Ron Paul's Polling Firm Behind Anti-Mormon Phone Calls

The New Hampshire Attorney General has determined that anti-Mormon push polls employed earlier this fall were organized by the polling firm Moore-Information, Inc.

Moore Information has not yet confirmed the sponsor of the poll, but the firm lists presidential candidate Ron Paul as one of its clients. Paul is the only presidential client listed on Moore's website.

Ron Paul has been listed as a client of Moore Info for a long time. According to archive.org (the "wayback machine") he was on Moore's client list way back in May 2006. That wouldn't rule out him having had some new stuff done *as well*, but it seems the FEC filings for the last quarter of 2007, when this push polling was being done and would presumably have been paid for, do rule that out.

There's no story here. There's nothing except an unfounded smear.

Did you read the New Hampshire D.O.J. press release? If you did, you know that we don't know who is behind the push poll. And we likely wont know until AFTER the New Hampshire primary. Knowing this, Will Thomas and The Huffington Post put up a piece STRONGLY implying that the push poll was the work of Ron Paul. I believe that this is a deliberate smear.

Wow. Where did my earlier posts go? Although not a Paul supporter, I thought it might be useful to post a link to his writings so that people could read it for themselves.

That would be the Democratic way would it not? Or is Huffpo proving that the rabid on both sides of the political spectrum are willing to mislead to further their agenda?

You are clearly not a trial lawyer because your understanding of the rules of evidence is pathetic at best. I understand now why you would confine your practice to hearings before an ALJ. First of all an adoptive admission requires that there be a specific statement such that a person would be expected to deny it. FRE 801(d)(2)(B). I’ll not go into the jurisprudence on the subject to add context as I don’t think it necessary. In this situation the specific accusation would have to be either RP, his staff or Moore Information as his agent stated that the push poll was conducted at the behest of the RP campaign. Put simply there is nothing of the kind set forth in the article. It therefore follows that neither RP nor his campaign can be said to have adopted a statement never uttered. Consider this a motion in limine.

At best there is a paucity of circumstantial evidence that RP had any thing to do with the push poll. Considering RP’s statements on religion in general, and regarding MR’s mormonism in particular, one needn’t think long or hard on the matter. (BTW, prior consistent statements are generally not allowed).

It is rather pathetic the way you repeatedly lay claim to your status as a lawyer every other time you post a reply on RP threads. Evidently, you gain some sort of satisfaction by exalting in your status as lawyer. You might consider that education is no substitute for grace, or wisdom, or fairness, or the myriad of other things that go into making one a redeeming human being. The spirit of the constitution is not a terribly difficult thing to understand. Most of the paul supporters understand the spirit of our laws, of our constitution, far better than an ideologue like yourself. Spitting out references to the incorporation doctrine of the 14th and other technical aspects of constitutional jurisprudence is not argument, it’s hubris.

Another hit and run smear piece. I notied that this attack was quietly withdrawn from the main page. I won't be surprised if the baseless accusations are continuously repeated by others though as proof of how bad Paul is.

Shame on Ron Paul. And shame on his followers for defending what we are determined to put an end to. But is the Republicans want to insist on supporting and defending bad behavior from their leaders, all the better for the rest of the Nation that is done with it. When an American makes up their mind, its done. And the collective mind is being made up that winning is not the prize. Being a decent human being is the prize.

Ron Paul supporters time to move on. Time to support a better candidate. Stand up and ask for better, you've earned it.

BS their client list also includes just about every Republican party organization (I wouldn't be surprised if any of them realized nominating Romney might guarantee a loss in the general). It also includes Bush/Cheny 2000, 2004. I wouldn't put anything past either one of those two, including this.

Paul, on the other hand, has always stated his positions clearly and honestly, even when they are PROFOUNDLY unpopular. He's the last person on the list I would suspect.
