The Screen Actors Guild said Friday there appears to be unanimous agreement that nominated actors will not cross striking writers' picket lines to attend the Golden Globe Awards.

After canvassing nominees over the past several weeks, Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg said in a statement, "there appears to be unanimous agreement that these actors will not cross" picket lines to present or accept an award.

A writer has no more claim to downstream income than a set designer or a caterer, they are all just components in a complex business process that involves many people in many roles, from Janitor to Financier...

Way too funny. Now George Clooney wants to boycott the Oscars too. "We won't show up, show off our finery, get our gift bags, and self-congratulate if we don't get what we want",
whines the male diva.

Let's retaliate by never going to see another movie no matter who's in it, no more renting or buying DVDs, no renting movies through OnDemand digital tv, no watching movies or tv period ever again, even after the strike's over.

Also, let's find info on if these writers are collecting unemployment comp, and if so, complain LOUDLY to states that are paying that benefit to them to not use taxpayer money to fund these spoiled brats' group hissy fit.

Don't be swayed by the false argument that it's the writers that make less money and get less work who need the extra concessions. Bull!If they were already getting less work and making less money it's because the big name writers have continued to hog all big money projects for themselves, and will keep doing so post-strike.

These morons are actually helping the internet replace tv/movies by striking. Studios, you need to tell the WGA that as of now, even if they come back to work tomorrow, they will now receive less pay and benefits than they got pre-strike, because of how much damage and expense this strike has caused. And how much disloyalty it shows to the sponsors who pay the salaries of these ingrate writers. Then you need to tell the WGA that for every subsequent day the strike continues, the new pay and benefits will plummet even more. And that if they are not back to work within one week, you will fire all their asses, get talent scouts out there, and hire scabs.

COUNTERSTRIKE!!!

Recently, quite a few celebrities were said to appear on the millionaire luxury
club MeetRich.comm". OMG!!! Are these famous
guys fond of internet dating for now?? Maybe they are indeed so rich that they feel boring sometimes to need new things?

Dear God,

Please let the writers' strike go on long enough to knock ALL film and TV awards programs off the air!

A dream come true.

Thanks.

I've been boycotting all award shows for so many years now I can't even remember when I watched one.

I don't see the point in wasting an evening watching a bunch of overpaid, over made-up windbags strut around like they're God's gift.

There is so little quality on television (or theatre movies) these days that these awards shows are nothing more than self congratulatory pageants of garbage.

If I performed on my job the way that most actors and writers do on theirs, I'd be fired. Why do these actors/writers get to keep making bomb after bomb after bomb and still get paid the extreme amounts of money they do? It's ludicrous.

Screw the writers. They make too much money. Then again so do the producers, but that's a different issue. Imagine if the "grip" union and "cameraman" union put everyone in hollywood out of work for a few months too. It's stupid that multiple union, and entire industry and a city be virtually shutdown because one greedy group wants more money from another greedy group. Meanwhile, the people who are scraping to get by suffer... the people who do the real work.

all i'll say is the actors have no other choice to boycott all the awards shows and that will include the Oscars ,if they value their careers ,the worst thing you could do if you are a actor is cross a picket line ,just means you are part of the corporate greed that has taken over America mentality, where it's all about no matter how much money these corps make they want to screw the working people more and get more for themselves, GREED,and the actors are aware they would be committing career suicide if they crossed them, can't wait till Oscar time and see the big corps squirm

With few exceptions, we see most of these people day after day, month after month, year after year -- primarily promoting themselves -- or the police promoting them with a mug shot.

I won't miss seeing Joan and Melissa Rivers interview this highly paid, highly promoted, highly egotistical group on the red carpet in sunny California.

Awards shows are nothing more than a venue for the self-adulating winners, honorees, and presenters to once again puff up the old ego.

Most of us don't have: 1)agents, 2)accountants, 3)nannies, 4)chauffeurs, 5)yachts, 6)two, three, four, or five homes in as many countries, and 7) fill in the blank here ad infinitum.

Most of us schlep to the grocery, do our own laundry, wipe our own kids' noses, clean the one toilet in the house, and then go to work only to make minimum wage at a job none of the winners, honrees or presenters would ever dream of doing.

No Golden Globe Awards Show? No one will miss it.

The deprivation of not seeing the concentrated delusions of grandeur basking in their self-acclaimed glory is a sacrifice I am willing to make indefinitely - vive les writers!
