Globes Stand-Off: NBC & WGA At An Impasse Over Televising The Awards

My sources say the striking Writers Guild Of America has told the Hollywood Foreign Press Association that the union won't picket the Golden Globes awards as long as it isn't televised by AMPTP member NBC. But NBC isn't allowing that non-televised awards show to be held on January 13th and arguing that the HFPA is contractually obligated to have the network broadcast the Golden Globes. I've learned that many in the Hollywood community are lobbying Jeff Zucker to change his mind. Because his churlish refusal to allow a non-televised Golden Globes could effectively cancel the awards night altogether, and Hollywood wants it to proceed.
