Star's fury over claims by Diana author Andrew Morton:

• Daughter by Katie Holmes "conceived like Rosemary's Baby"

• Nicole Kidman "feared blackmail" over sex tapes made with Scientologists

• Scientologists "planted meadow of flowers for Tom and Nicole to run through"

• Cruise's next mission is to recruit David Beckham

Tom Cruise has become the de-facto second in command of the Church of Scientology, according to a new biography - which makes an extraordinary attack on the star by comparing his 20-month-old daughter Suri to the Devil's child in the film Rosemary's Baby.

Andrew Morton's unauthorised biography claims Scientology has taken over the 45-year-old actor's life, with its officials selecting many of the staff at his Hollywood mansion.

The biographer of Princess Diana alleges Cruise is consulted by Scientology leader David Miscavige on "every aspect of planning and policy" and is tailoring his career to fit the aims of Scientology.

Miscavige is said in the book to have gone to extraordinary lengths to charm Cruise, even ordering his staff to plant a field full of wild flowers at a Scientology base in California after Cruise had told him of his fantasy to run through a wildflower meadow with his then newlywed wife Nicole Kidman.

The New York Post has an article about the book here.

Excerpt:

In March 2004, Cruise cut ties with longtime agent Pat Kingsley for speaking out against Scientology as bad for his image, the book relates. "From that moment, she was doomed," Morton quotes a "Hollywood insider" as saying.

The relationship with Cruz - and hers with Scientology - also ended in 2004. Cruise tellingly showed up without her at the Golden Globe Awards. She had just come back to the country after being with her father, Eduardo, who suffered a heart attack months earlier in Spain. Eduardo considered Scientology to be offensive, writes Morton.

Hmmmm...they took this post down?

Let's try again. I'll paraphrase:

I feel the most empathy for Katie's parents. I went to the same all girl Catholic high school that Katie did (in Toledo, Oh) although I graduated a tad before she did :), so I know that her parents are Catholic.

If I were to put my parents through this Scientology baloney it would be the same as plunging a dagger through their hearts. They probably die a small death every day knowing what their daughter and granddaughter are living.

All is forgiven if Tom kills Hitler in his next movie.

I can tell you who I feel a lot of empathy for, and that is Katie Holmes' parents.

I went to the same high school that Katie did in Toledo, Ohio (an all girl CATHOLIC) school..although..ahem...I graduated a tad before she did. (yep..for those of you who do not know, Katie is from Too-lee-doo, OH)

The thing is, her parents are devout Catholics and I am sure that this Scientology thing is just killing them.
If I did the same thing to my parents I can't even imagine...it would be like plunging a knife into their Catholic hearts.

Tommy has such a cute hairstyle - if you are 12 or under.

Guess he needed something to go with his IQ.

Well--lucky for Messr. Morton
that truth is an absolute defense to libel.

Bert Fields' defense of Cruisology is as credible as his defense of Michael Jackson and the CLEARLY false molestation charges.

Scientology wants your money #1.

Then they take people who want to be perfect, and make them think by "auditing" their past that they CAN be perfect. This means of course, alienating relationships from the past including family and friends and starting anew. It's a really phoney reality because people are made up of where they come from, what they did, and who they were.

People should embrace their past, and use it to change. Not change the past and erase it like Scientology espouges.
