Hundreds of miles from the hustings of New Hampshire lurks a possible presidential candidate who supports gay marriage, abortion rights and stricter regulation of handguns. Who doesn't mind taxing the rich on their income or big companies on their carbon emissions. Who says that deporting illegal immigrants would destroy the nation's economy. And who is not necessarily averse to adding more bureaucrats to the government payroll.

That politician -- Michael R. Bloomberg, the billionaire mayor of New York -- has spent months laying out his vision for a post-partisan approach to politics that would take the best from left and right.

Bloomberg as a centrist/moderate would have t be much better than the poor offering of O-Bomb-a, Billery, and some front running GOP candidates.

If he teams up with Ron Paul at the lead they would make the best team currently available.

That combo Bloomberg/Paul or Paul/Bloomberg could beat any other ticket such as Edwards/O-bomb-a.
After all the primaries are over we will get a much better picture.

Bloomberg would be a thinly veiled democrat like Feinstein, Leiberman and Schumer, the ones we need to vote out of office. He should do himself and the country a favor and spend his money on something more achievable.

What does being a democrat on policy mean?

US presence in Iraq? Continued US military bases overseas? Continue to arrest people for smoking marijuana? Just tinker with the Patriot Act?

"Bloomberg Would Be A Democrat On Policy"

-----------

Well that's very interesting, because, Michael Bloomberg is the person most directly responsible for rescuing Joe Loserman from oblivion.

Joe Loserman is NO Democrat...and neither is Michael Bloomberg!

Bloomberg would get his behind kick against Barack. The only way he get in the race if Hillary wins. Other than that he stays home.

He might make a decent President but if he runs as an independent then all he'll accomplish is to hopelessly split the vote and cause a Republican to win again. If he is rational then he'll use the threat of running to get put on the ticket as the democratic Vice Presidential candidate which be could parley into being a sort of back-room powerhouse like Cheney (only not on the dark-side.)

Bloomberg might be a "democrat" on policy, but he'd be a republican weapon in this election if he ran as an independent.

Mr. Bloomberg, I know it's difficult for people like you, but please try to contain that immense ego of yours and go back to making your billions. The only thing you could possibly do in this election is hand the WH back to the Republicans. In fact, that is about the ONLY way the Republicans could get back in.

Then again, perhaps that is exactly the goal, despite the rhetoric.

Bloomberg will run to stop a progressive from winning. His job would be to keep corporations in power. His appeal will be to Republicans ala Joe Lieberman.

Bloomberg is a life-long Democrat and a liberal to boot. Should Edwards not win the nomination, I hope he runs and I'd support him.
