Hillary Hits Obama On Abortion Rights

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton criticizes rival Barack Obama's record on abortion rights in a mailing sent to New Hampshire voters _ her first direct attack on the Illinois senator since his victory in Iowa.

The mailer says that seven times during his time in the Illinois state Senate, Obama declined to take a position on abortion bills, while Clinton has been a defender of abortion rights.

During his eight years in the legislature, Obama cast a number of votes on abortion and received a 100 percent rating from the Illinois Planned Parenthood Council for his support of abortion rights, family planning services and health insurance coverage for female contraceptives. He voted against requiring medical care for aborted fetuses who survive, a vote that especially riled abortion opponents.

Shame on you! Using a photo of Clinton to make her look like an evil nazi in a 'heil' salute while bookending the title with another photo of Obama in a very flattering pose is yellow journalism and shameful propaganda that the nazi Goebbels would approve of.

Ariana Huffington: do you approve of this kind of evil done in the name of some cause of yours? If you want to improve our world start by raising your own standards of what you allow to be posted. Start by firing the putrid 'journalist' who authorized the use of these propaganda photos. Or maybe just admit you have no standards like the 'enemies' of freedom you berate.

If you read all my posts, you know I have not been particularly for H Clinton, nor totally against Edwards or Obama. I used to have a high opinion of Arianna Huffington. But now after saturday night's headline photos of genial Edwards and Obama surrounded by National Enquirer like horror pictures of H Clinton followed by this headline posting of a shadowed Clinton in front of a flag in nazi salute joined with a bright forceful forceful picture of Obama, I now place Huffington Post in the league with an O'Reilly, a Limbaugh, National Enquirer, etc as dishonest voices and tabloids. I will browse them to see what's out there, but I will not trust them for any Truth.

I watched all the debates, and one had many opportunities to choose a genial, flattering picture of Clinton forcefully supporting her positions, or dark, unflattering pictures of Edwards or Obama. The choice of photos -"a picture is worth a thousand words" - is clearly a conscious one to 'sell' position, to sell the Post, to insidiously appeal to our lower animal appetites. Ms Huffington, do you read your own Post, have you no control of it, or have you no shame? I question your grace.

I am an undecided voter, but this ugly headline clearly meant to turn readers away from Clinton and onto Obama is obscene and has me defending a candidate I may not even vote for!

Barack is clearly and cleanly lit, looking almost pasty (almost white, for some reason!) while the photo of Hillary is deeply shadowed and ominous looking, apparently saluting Hitler.

I thought Ariana left the Republican party and its dirty, hateful antics?!? Yet look here! She has me defending HRC - a candidate I don't support.

I don't blame Hillary for anything her camp does. It's politics. Bush killed McCain and Kerry. If you turn the other cheek you'll get points with JC but you won't win an election. Hillary is now letting the world see what many of us suspected ...... she has only one goal and that is to advance herself and her interests.

The email trashing and lying about Obama's position on choice is despicable and she should be ashamed of stooping so low just to win.

What is really unfortunate is that her future will always be colored by the way she is playing this game ~ whether she wins or looses the nomination. Is there no one among her close friends and advisors who will risk telling her to think long term and show the world how much she cares about principled actions based on truth, honesty and integrity.

Perhaps someone has done that and got blistered as will anyone else who stands in her way ...... she had that reputation when first lady and now she is giving any of us who were willing to cut her slack, a lesson in how all actions and all words do count ~ not just the ones we want the public to witness.

I take no pleasure in seeing her meltdown because I always hoped she would have the welfare of our democracy and the people she serves as her foremost concern. I take no pleasure in seeing her angry face and gestures blasted across cyberspace ...... it's such a waste of brightness and possibility.
