Mccain Thousand Iraq Years

Think Progress:

Last week, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said it "would be fine with" him if the U.S. military stayed in Iraq for "a hundred years" or even a "million years."...

...on CBS's Face the Nation, McCain claimed that Americans would not be "concerned" if the U.S. spends "10,000 years" in Iraq:

The point is it's American casualties. We've go to get American's off the frontlines, have the Iraqis as part of the strategy, take over more and more of the responsibilities, and then I don't think Americans are concerned if we're there for one hundred years or a thousand years or ten thousand years.

John Mccain just made a big mistake. Just made it clear he dose not want to win the nomination. This was a stupid mistake.

Do I hear 20,000 years? Does anybody bid 20,000 year?. Going once, going twice, sold at 10,000 years in Iraq to the candidate with the Silver hair!

Now, how sir will you be paying for that?

This guy's a legend in his own mind. He is willing to continue the U.S.'s act of national cowardice in Iraq and call it honorable.

It takes a coward to attack someone who is literally one tenth your number and one one thousandth of your economy and military, using sophisticated weaponry, body armor, etc. against a population who has none of it. It's like a fully trained martial artist in his or her prime beating an untrained ten your old senseless and using sophisticated weapons to do it.

Mc Cain has delusions of grandeur. Whatever he may have been once, he should go the way Douglas Mac Arthur said all old soldiers go -- he should just fade away. And take coward Lieberman with him -- even though Lieberman is not an old soldier -- just an old draft dodger.

Because of McCain and the chicken hawks, the last stanza of the Star Stangled Banner is now "The Land of the Formerly Free, and the Home of the Cowards."

I think McCain meant this:

As long as we are addicted to oil for our lifestyle

We won't care how long we are in this region of the world.

Our military has only served one purpose since WWII and that is:

to preserve the free flow of oil to our corporate interests.

He knows we will be there until the last drop of oil is gone.

I am sick of the MSM shoving this lunatic in our faces, throwing him softball questions and giving him perpetual passes on his crazy statements -- the list of which is staggering. I intend to start boycotting any MSM show that persists in trying to elevate this buffoon to the presidency. In addition, I will be e-mailing them and expressing my outrage. They screwed the nation with Bush and are now attempting to do it again with this old fool!

he is right as we americans are imperialists and have become war mongers.

the repubs know that to stay in iraq will fuel terrorism in america and they love terrorism to get the votes and fuel the industrial military complex and corp. america.

yes middle class line up to vote for these war mongering repubs that send your jobs overseas and tell you the trickle down theory works.

now they will tell you the cheap dollar is good for you. guess who it is good for. suckers.

Someone explain to McCain that as Americans we are responsible for the 1.2 million civilian deaths in Iraq. We allowed our leaders to authorize it because we believed the fear. In 2006, we said stop it.

We mean it.

Well Mr McCain you are simply wrong, the numbers from the polls proves it. Besides we can not afford to stay there no matter how much you want your own private sandbox. The deficit is several trillion and climbing everyday due to many thing but mostly our spending in Iraq. Now you might think the country has unlimited funds, but that is not the case. You see most jobs that exist in this country today are low paying and that has eroded the tax base. The high paying jobs have left this country hopfully not for good, but I know no Republican is going to change that situation. No I say we cannot afford to stay in Iraq.

I grieve for Sen. McCain, who was at one time my Senator and who was a powerful voice... his own voice.

I do not know who is leading him around by the nose today; nor why.

But it should be quite obvious to everyone by now that "10,000 years of war" is no answer at all. And only a fool would say it.
