Pentagon Says Iran Harassed US Ships

In what is being called a serious provocation, Iranian Revolutionary Guard boats harassed and provoked three U.S. Navy ships in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, officials said Monday.

U.S. forces were on the verge of firing on the Iranian boats in the early Sunday incident, when the boats ended the incident and turned and moved away, said a Pentagon official.

Hmmm...
No information as to WHEN this occurred ( yesterday? Last week? A month ago? Years?) or WHERE (In Iranian waters? Close to them?). There is only a report THAT it occurred and interestingly none of the white boxes were retrieved so there is no knowing WHAT they were.

With so many basic rules of good journalism unmet, as a former reporter, I can only say this report has the odor of a six day rotting fish.

Israel is conducting the US foreign policy in the middle east for decades. America has absolutely no credibility in this region and has lost most of its reputation in the rest of the world. So who cares?

When the USA decides to go for Iran, we, outside America will watch the news for the first few weeks closely. At the same time we will go on with our ordinary lives as you will do in the USA. Apart from a few protests there will be nothing. No european government will try to stop Bush, they will keep out of it. All the top militaries of the world practice "live exercises." A live exercise is when one enemy threatens or engages another for no other purpose than training. A very good example would be the game of chicken practiced by the air forces of the U.S. and Soviet Union, when we would send one of our bombers to the edge of their military space, or they to ours, to see how one another would react. Means nothing.

Bush, knowing nothing of military affairs, probably isn't aware of this. He should be very careful not to let what may have been a mistake, or may have been a live exercise, to start a war.

Of course, with his truth-challenged self, he may be making this all up.
