Kbr Pentagon Investigation

ABC's The Blotter:

The Defense Department's top watchdog has declined to investigate allegations that an American woman working under an Army contract in Iraq was raped by her co-workers.

The case of former Halliburton/KBR employee Jamie Leigh Jones gained national attention last month. An ABC News investigation revealed how an earlier investigation into Jones' alleged gang-rape in 2005 had not resulted in any prosecution, and that neither Jones nor Democratic and Republican lawmakers have been able to get answers from the Bush administration on the state of her case.

Shocking and sad.

This is not my country.

This is a set back for all women.

Thank goodness only 377 days of hell left.

Go to any legal data base and do a search on KBR - you will find more litigation than you can believe. The real question is why any organization with the record of unlawfulness that existed prior to the Iraq fiasco could even be considered for any Government contract. The answer of course has everything to do with the revolving door nature of today's quasi-private government. The same individuals who today found an insufficient basis to investigate these criminals will tomorrow be lucratively employed by these criminals.

This is absolutely disgusting.

I hope the Congress does something about this.

The court will say the same thing it said the KBR was stealing. We have no jurisdiction, sue them in Iraq.

That will work if she is a friend of Chalaby.

I don't see the venerable right wing coming to this woman's assistance like they did for Paula Jones. Go figure??

so it will continue until impeachment is on the agenda . . . KBR is protected from on high by the scum of the earth . . .and the culprits go unpunished for this heinous crime.

I wonder if the KBR employee who let her use his cellphone (while she was being held captive in that container) is still alive?

The Department of Defense doesn't have a problem with gang rape.........and still I'm suppose to nuance my feelings about this and at the same time 'support the troops'.
I don't support the troops and they need to come home.

Jamie Leigh has established a foundation to stand up for all women subject to sexual abuse by their own fellow American contractors.

Please give generously.

KBR and others were exempted from prosecution for rape, murder and theft, by Bremer, Rumsfeld and Rice. They asserted their rights as rulers.

so much for "protecting you from terrorists" don't you think... an American woman has been terrorized 2 times, first raped and raped again, the second time by her own government. this is a truly sad news. god help her...
