Chris Matthews Barack Obama
On today's "Morning Joe" on MSNBC, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Willie Geist hosted Chris Matthews. As they discussed, and individually gushed over, Barack Obama's concession speech last night, Joe said, "If anybody in America has heard a better speech in modern American political history, please email me."

A visibly moved, sentimental Chris Matthews then chimed in with his account of an Obama speech he attended days before: "It was the best speech I've ever heard. ... And I'm tearing up, and I'm writing down notes, and I'm trying to keep track of this thing. ... His heart must've been broken last night." It appears Chris' was as well.

Give me a break. Mathews' heart was broken-because he so wanted to see Hillary crushed. He is unrelenting in his criticism of her.

Hillary represents all the smart girls who wouldn't give him the time of day. (It's not them Chris. It's you.) And Bill Clinton represents the guys that got those girls.

Chris is the loud irritating friend of the nice guys. The schmuck who never got it. The one the women couldn't stand.

He is a pompous ass.

He is mindblind. He thinks people don't understand the Clintons, but he's the one who doesn't. He can't.

Chris, to take a line from Moonstruck-"What you don't know about women, is a lot."

She voted for the war twice- she voted for the war twice-- that is the mantra that all Obama supporters must never stop chanting!!!

Chris Matthews is a retard, sorry, a slobbering, chortling, savant that knows too much and has nothing to say. The fact that he asks 20 questions to 1 answer tells me he is also addicted to caffeine.

Hillary Clinton is the choice for masochistic democrats who secretly derive more pleasure from "getting back at the Bush dynasty" than actually living in a better country. The kind of democrats who don't mind the squalor of friction between the two parties. Democrats who will still defend her when she turns hard to the right if she ever makes it into office.

I couldn't care less about Matthews, but Obama in defeat--a very, very narrow defeat--is better than Clinton in victory.

It was inevitable that sooner or later Obama would have a defeat or two and a backlash. Now the campaign is truly under way and Obama has shown he's ready for the ups and downs. There will be more victories and we'll keep making history.

Obama 2008.

ck...Clinton gave us some of the best 8 years in modern history and did something extremely hard that took fortitude: deficit to surplus.
Yes, Obama is fresh, glorious, different...but we really don't know how substantive that is, how well he would deal with the difficulties we face whereas Hillary is uniquely, exquisitely poised/prepared to deal with our most pressing issues. She has great relations with many world leaders and in that regard will hit the ground running. She knows healthcare and her stomping, her failure, is one of her greatest assets. She is wonderfully pragmatic. She knows how to get things done.

The ticket is Clinton/Obama but Obama is acting like such an naive neophyte, attacking Hillary at every chance he gets that he's making it difficult to envision this...

Listening to Mathews always makes me want to cry for the state of American Journalism.

Besides, the guy is always leaking somewhere embarrassing.

Obama is different. He is inspiring! If he can get to the guys who watch politicians for a living - he's unique. I thought I was happy with all 3 Dem candidates - though I support Obama. But, when Hillary won, I was so depressed. Yes, she would be an intelligent, competent president. But there will be no bold leadership - everything will be poll tested and safe. I also thought back to the right wing attack machine, and how they went after the Clintons from the moment they entered the White House. I hate to go back to those bad old days; it was tough to take, and not much got done. Barack is a breath of fresh air - and after George Bush - can you imagine how the country and the world would respond to his speeches?

Obama brings Tweety to tears by inspiring in him a belief in what America can be.

Hillary makes gullible people feel sorry for her by talking about how hard this campaign is for her. (oh sure, it's not about her, it's about "us." give me a break.)

furthermore, her inappropriate displays of emotionality (like inappropriate laughing, inappropriate jokes, like about Gandhi working in a gas station, her inappropriate tantrums in debates, are selfish and mean like the antics of Bush the Chimp.)

that's why I'm not too worried for Obama. sure, there are some stupid fucking people in this country, but most people understand one way or another that Hillary talks and acts like Bush on foreign policy, and Obama had superior judgment from the beginning.
