The article brought back some pretty frightening memories of my ex-husband. I've given up on scary hairy guys, in favor of those who have the smooth look.

I did take offense to the writer's remark about women over 45. Please! We're rapidly being thought of as the 'cougar generation,' and in that context, furless is more fun.

Sage point about the plumbing bills, too.

I like my men (man) hirsute... the hirsutier the better! I do prefer him to be sans back hair but my hubby won't let me wax him.

There are men who look better without hair though... those with just a teeny tuft might as well take it all off.

Regardless of the typo and to answer the question - it depends on the hunk. Daniel Craig (now) or Sean Connery (then) - ggggrrrrrr. Hair or no hair, it just depends on the hunk.

I agree. Are the HuffPost editors so ignorant? Hirsute or hairy? It pretty much means the same thing.

Somebody needs a dictionary. You wouldn't expect someone at a British newspaper to be so ignorant aqbout the English language.

And the HuffPo editors just passed on the same ignorant headline, rather than looking it up themselves:

hirsute |ˈhərˌsoōt; hərˈsoōt; ˈhi(ə)rˌsoōt| adjective

hairy : their hirsute chests.

DERIVATIVES:
hirsuteness noun

So translated, the question is, which do you prefer: Hairy or Hairy?
ORIGIN early 17th cent.: from Latin hirs
