Election Central:

The Tears are now officially an issue in Campaign 2008.

Obama's national campaign co-chair, Jesse Jackson, Jr., just went on MSNBC and appeared to question Hillary's tears, which he called "tears that melted the Granite State," adding that those tears "moved voters."

He also suggested that Hillary was crying about "her appearance."

Hey stupid, it doesn't matter if she sheds crocodile tears or wets her panties. Your boy is going to have to wake up and get tough.

You can not let Bill Clinton continue to dump lies and distortions on Obama and not do something about it.

Kerry didn't fight off the swiftboat attacks in 2004. Edwards didn't fight anything in 2004. Kerry lost. Edwards lost and is losing again. Don't you people get it?

Playing nice-nice with the Clintons is a losers game.

WAKE THE F*CK UP !

I will say that even though I think her tears made a difference, it's time to let go of the issue and move on. This can only backfire for Obama if he comes across as cold and unfeeling. Besides, it's on to SC and NV now!!!

sounds like the obama campaign is jealous that hillary let down her guard for a moment and showed some real humanity unlike obama's same old pre programmed platitudes.

Talk about the politics of cynicism.. Where's that Ms. Huffpost article lambasting this ridiculousness coming from the co-chair of the Obama campaign. Hillary choked up, not cried, nor bawled, whined, bitched or moaned..but choked up about how she took it personally how f*cked up the country was from 7 tyrannical Bush years... she loves this country and is driven in her soul to restore its glory...I believe that Obama can get behind that...and even JJ Jr.

Jeez, get over it!

Hillary wasn't crying for 9/11 when she was there, she wasn't crying for the soldiers that died in Iraq, when she visited there, no but she found time to cry for herself, because she was loosing. What a woman. No what a county that votes for a woman who cries for herself.
I'm not against any politician crying, just don't cry for yourself. Wake up and stop being sexist women, vote for Hillary if you consider her the best candidate, but please, please don't vote for Hillary because she cried for herself.

Attacking Hillary for her teary eyed moment will backfire.

She's not my choice for the nominee, but I believe she fell into a rare unscripted, sincere moment.

Saying she didn't cry over Katrina is utterly ridiculous. How does he know when she did and didn't cry in private.

Obama has legitimate points to make about Clinton's record on the war and her role in the establishment.

Members of his Team who are no doubt very disappointed he lost the New Hampshire Primary after the media buildup are doing a great disservice to their candidate, for attacking her for this will only drive more people into her camp.

It's absolutely the wrong attack at the wrong time.

Well, JJ, JR. has managed to sound like an idiot and play the race card all in one interview.

She was asked why she does what she does. When one thinks passionately about her life's work it can get emotional!

And what is with the South Carolina racial breakdown? Must we continue to hear that line from Obama supporters? We are all citizens with one vote!

Where is Edwards when we need him?

Instead of talking about these petty issues he should be out there telling how he would help the economy and fight for regular Americans instead of the elite corporate donors.

Who is his Campaign Manager? Are they qualified for the job? This is his last chance and I haven't read anything in the news about him recently. Maybe he is getting ready to announce he is dropping out.

If I were Obama and his people I would be very careful lest their own sincerity becomes an object of cynical perspective. Jesse Jackson's son of all people should temper his remarks. If Obama does become the nominee it spells the end of the Jackson /Sharpton shakedown cruises and we finally have black leadership in the MLK/Malcom X template.

Hillary's victory in New Hampshire last night can be bookmarked for reference as the moment the 2008 campaign became an unequivocal farce.

Rep. Jackson's phraseology was unfortunate but his point salient: That Senator Clinton did not cry over any of the great crises this nation has faced since her public life began, and it was not until she personally felt helpless and hopeless, that the office which she has sought for decades and she feels she is owed looked like it was slipping away, then the waterworks turned on. Hmm.

This isn't a matter of gender. I don't want any man or woman who is liable to cry on camera to serve as president. I don't doubt the sincerity of her tears; she was displaying genuine emotion about the only thing she really cares about: herself.

The fact that thousands of New Hampshire Democrats saw Hillary weeping in self-pity and decided to back her because the boys were making life difficult says something very sad about this country I love, my party, and our democracy.
