Campaign AdWatch: Florida Firewalling
For a long time, Rudy Giuliani pooh-poohed the idea that his decision to sit back in Florida and wait for the more established candidates to come to compete at the end of January was anything other than a brilliant idea. But then other candidates started winning things, making speeches, and basking in the media eye. Whole weeks went by without so much as a mention of Giuliani from the punditocracy. So, he rushed up to New Hampshire, furtively competing for the affections of New Hampshire-ites, only to see John McCain - a guy who won't even torture people, for crying out loud! - win the primary.
And the media, as you know, just loves McCain because of his bus and his Straight Talk. They are the McCain base! So, a week after scaring the daylights out of America with his terrorporn, guess who Rudy's new enemy is? The media and their old-timey teevees!
Tested? Ready? Now? Hmm. You've lost all the tests so far. You say you won't be ready until January 29. And, now, you're a guy who barely beat Ron Paul.
