In 1972, Republican voters in Michigan decided to make a little mischief, crossing over to vote in the open Democratic primary and voting for segregationist Democrat George Wallace, seriously embarrassing the state's Democrats. In fact, a third of the voters (PDF) in the Democratic primary were Republican crossover votes. In 1988, Republican voters again crossed over, helping Jesse Jackson win the Democratic primary, helping rack up big margins for Jackson in Republican precincts. (Michigan Republicans can clearly be counted on to practice the worst of racial politics.) In 1998, Republicans helped Jack Kevorkian's lawyer -- quack Geoffrey Feiger -- win his Democratic primary, thus guaranteeing their hold on the governor's mansion that year.

With a history of meddling in our primaries, why don't we try and return the favor. Next Tuesday, January 15th, Michigan will hold its primary. Michigan Democrats should vote for Mitt Romney, because if Mitt wins, Democrats win. How so?

Folks, like myself, that live in MI should vote for Kucinich on Tuesday if they support Obama or Edwards. Don't vote for "uncommitted"! Nor should you vote for Romney!

Think about this, putting Kucinich back on the board after he's been blocked from so many debates would "force" the corporate media to said SOMETHING about his campaign and add more diversity to the overall discussion.

Democrats voting for Willard would be a smart move. Between McLame, Huckleberry and Willard, Willard would be the easiest to defeat in the general election.

The Daily Kos can shove it up their Asses!

KUCINICH is still on our ballot (what kind of democracy is this?)

I intend to vote out all those who thought changing our primary date was more imporatnt then allowing US a full ballot- SOB's. Can't wait for the 2010 election for our dear MI 'leaders' OUT OUT OUT!!!!

They would have to take my cold dead hand to get me to vote for that Political Prototype the Repug Factory assembled. Mitt Romney - PLEASE!

I did let the Kos know they could got F*ck themselves- and I will no longer visit their website. You've just pissed off a life long progressive with the ridiculous interjection into OUR Primary.

.

If Romney wins Michigan, which is very unlikely, it'll just delay the pain until the end of the month, where he'll get clobbered in SC and FL.

If he wins Utah and OK, big deal, those states are meaningless in delegate number terms.

McCain will probably be the nominee, possibly Huckabilly, but in nay case, they'll lose to ANY Democrat they run against.

So let them tear each other apart - the more money they have to waste, the easier the Democratic victory!

What a immature, potentially dangerous idea.

Rommney is dead if he loses Michigan, why give him any life when there is so many Mormons that will vote for him out West?

I really question anything coming from that site.

If you want to kick the corrupt R's in the shin, vote for Ron Paul in your protest vote.

Turnabout is fair play. I would however suggest that a Ron Paul victory would be much more effective as it would keep him in their debates and totaly discredit the result also wasting a lot of Romney and McCain resources.

LOL, the Dems here will never agree to this.

They're scared silly of Romney. If Romney wins in Michigan he may very will win it all, and then you end up facing him in a general election.

This is too bold and too risky for the coddled souls here on HuffPo.

The only way to true freedom is to ban right wing politics and ideologies.

It works for the GOP because they are a lock step party before country bunch who use fear, loathing and deceit to move past their minority position.

Democrats are too independent and far, FAR less hypocritical, so conspiracies are far less likely to work. Besides, who wants to take the chance that with Diebold's help, The Mittwit could go on to win the White House?

This is indicative of a broken electoral system. When you have strategies to use exploits in the system, it is broken.

I think it is time we start looking at a better method of electing our officials. I personally like Instant Runoff Voting. In this type of voting a voter ranks candidates so that it isn't so much a winner take all scenario each time. Spoilers like Nader don't work and neither will goofy crap like this.

This is BS from the Kos, Mitt are you kdding. Don't tell us how to vote. Watch out if any Repug wins in MI it will be either McCain OR Ron Paul. Certainly not Mitt. I resent the post the Kos has to influence the voter of MI, by E-mailing your friends here. We are very independent voters too- and we are really pissed off- check out our economy for the last 35 yrs!!!
Since our illustrious legislators screwed US for the Dem primaries- you will probalby see a huge backlash against both parties once the Fat lady sings. We are the state that acts as the Canary in this Coalmine- we fell over dead years ago! We need extraordinary measure to revive Us. Kucinich or Paul will screw them all and send a clear messege "We are Mad as Hell and we're not going to take it any longer!" CAVE ADSUM
