Hillary Supporter Cuomo: Obama Tried To "Shuck And Jive" With Media

The Hillary campaign might have their own surrogate with foot-in-mouth syndrome who they'll have to deal with. During an appearance yesterday on talk radio -- at almost the same time as Obama co-chair Jesse Jackson Jr. questioned Hillary's tears -- New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo used some words about Barack Obama that have a very troublesome racial history.

"It's not a TV crazed race. Frankly you can't buy your way into it," Cuomo said, according to Albany Times Union reporter Rick Karlin. "You can't shuck and jive at a press conference," he added. "All those moves you can make with the press don't work when you're in someone's living room."

The phrase "shuck and jive" refers to mischievous blacks behaving innocently in the presence of an authority figure, so as to lie and get out of trouble.

Can't we wait for the Repubs to get into the race for the inevitable race-baiting? Do we Dems have to start off with a circular firing squad? We have three--yes, three--great candidates to choose from, and if we mortally wound our final standard-bearer, there is a chance we could blow the election. And we can't blow it. The undercurrents of racism are alive and well and will rear the ugly head a lot when we have to look at not only a black male but the white woman running. We still have the KKK and skinheads and all of the other groups hiding in the shadows waiting to come out and damage not only the object of their hate but us as a country who has thought we were past a lot of what they are capable of doing. The people with "names" or celbs will pay dearly for some of what is said. Just look at what a phone conversation did to "dog" chapman and others who thought they could say something they would deny to the public. It takes a long time for many to forget the words/deeds.

Edwards is talking about these issues such as free trade, nuclear disarmament, single payer universal coverage, Iraq, etc.

Obama has 25 delegates, Clinton 24, and Edwards 18. The others are out of the race.

The media is making a fortune out of its new TV show called "Political Survivor."

Edwards should team up with Bill Richardson and keep working on the class battles against organized capital. We could elect ten women in a row and it won't change the dynamic. Hope won't cut it either. So long as the Democrats want to elect corporatists who are war-mongers, that's exactly what they will get.
