Sen. Barack Obama held a New York City fundraiser on Sen. Hillary Clinton's turf Wednesday night, that organizers said raised $700,000 for the Democrat's campaign coffers.

An estimated 700 people, who all paid to be there, attended the soiree at the Grand Hyatt hotel in New York City, the same place where Obama held a packed fundraiser several months ago.

Actor Richard Gere, movie director Spike Lee and model Iman mingled in the crowd.

Obama 'raises' while Clinton 'claims'. What a bunch of biased BS on this site.

Why are we talking about these vast sums of money? Oh yes, because the candidates who called for election spending reform and would have brought that change have dropped out of the race.
It is unconscionable that we seem to think that a candidate has to buy their way into the White House.
A candidate elected after spending vast sums will not bring in reform-- it would call into question their very legitimacy.
As it should.

Is Obamapost.com going to report on every fundraiser Obama has? Because I am pretty sure Other Candidates raised money in NY and other candidates also have fundraisers that get 700 people.
