Roseanne Barr's Wild Tirade Against Obama, Oprah

Roseanne Barr has published a profane rant on her website attacking Barack (misspelled "Barak") Obama as a supporter of "corporate racist anti worker bullshit." Barr also tears into Oprah Winfrey, who allegedly "plays the race card and the gender card" and is a "closeted republican."

barak obama is an empty suit selling "hope" in lieu of Truth. Oprah Winfrey helped to elect Arnold Swartzenegger. I have no doubt that she voted her purse by doing this, as she is a large land owner in California, and that ilk fears Dems because they do not want to pay their "fair share" of Cali tax. Oprah has given us Swartzenegger and Dr. Phil. If that was not offensive enough to decent thinking people, now she brings us Obama. He has no ideas, no plan and nothing to add other than the cynical pacification of the masses with bedtime stories about hope, while calling Unions "special interest groups" that need to be done away with.

Obama votes with Bush constantly funding this terrible endless war.

Oprah, you play the race card and the gender card too.

You are a closeted republican and chose Barak Obama because you do not like other women who actually stand for something to working American Women besides glamour, angels, hollywood and dieting!

When Americans find out that Obama backs right wing corporate racist anti worker bullshit, they will not vote for him, and the victory will go to the most racist right wing republican ever.... Mccain, who is a fascist!

For what it's worth, Barr praises Hillary Clinton as a "seasoned woman politician with 35 years of experience" and John Edwards as "pro union."

Besides which, Roseanne is idiotic about taxes, suggesting in her fever-delirium that Oprah supported A. Schwarzenegger because she is "a large land owner in California and that ilk does not want to pay their fair share" of California taxes. Roseanne, you idiot! Property taxes in California are assessed and almost entirely spent at the county and municipal level! Governors, whoever they are, have no little or no influence in that process. I realize it's been a long time, Roseanne, since you've done anything with tax preparation but tossing the job to a well-paid CPA firm, but really!

Someone please explain to me why anyone should care what Roseanne Barr thinks about politics.
I realize we are celebrity-obsessed in this country, but how many years removed must a entertainer be from that which brought them fame before the public stops caring about what the entertainer thinks? If Ray J. Johnson came out for Edwards, would HuffingtonPost feel compelled to report it? Why is Roseanne Barr's opinion more newsworthy?
This is not to say that all political opinions from celebrities should be summarily dismissed. But if Roseanne Barr can't even spell Barack Obama's name correctly, why in the world should anyone care about her thoughts in this election? Before we fawn over celebrity political opinions, should we at least wait to see if the celebrity's opinion is cogent, well-reasoned, and reflects serious thought and consideration? If she's so ignorant about politics that she can't even spell the man's name correctly, I don't see much evidence of a cogent, considered, and well-reasoned opinion.

Not that I see Roseanne Barr as an oracle of wisdom, but I read her statements about Obama with interest, as I am not sold on any candidate yet, including Obama.

She paints Obama as a Bush-backing corporate shill, charges that if true should disqualify him from consideration by anyone that seeks genuine change in this increasingly troubled nation.

But to then offer Hillary Clinton as the remedy!!!! OMG Roseanne!!!! What are you smoking!!!

There is no candidate, certainly on the DEM side, that is more thoroughly embedded, and in bed, with the current corporate status quo than Hillary. Follow the money folks. Further, look at her voting record (not just her most recent campaign rhetoric) and try to find any distance between Hillary and King George.

We need to look more closely at Obama. But Hillary is already a known quantity, and she stinks with corporate money, she is a card carrying member of the current elitist political establishment, and the Clintons have dominated the DEM party for decades now (and what have been the fruits of that domination?).

Look much closer before you vote for Obama, but concerning Hillary, run away as fast as your feet with carry you: She is NOT the one, unless you want more of the same in a slightly different packaging. Don't forget, the Clintons are the ones who CAMPAIGNED AGAINST NAFTA BUT THEN SIGNED IT INTO LAW A.S.A.P. AFTER BEING ELECTED. Actually, Hillary and Roseanne seem to be rather complimentary. Hillary is more diplomatic but not above a smear campaign, and a 527org to tarnish the reputation of the opposing team and win at any cost... What's odd is that Roseanne is calling Obama a corporate sellout voting alongside Bush - Clinton has supported Bush more times than not in her term in the Senate, and she accepts campaign contributions from lobbyists. Obama does not and he has raised more money for the primary from individual donors - if you consider he didn't have $10 million left over in his Senate account.
