Roseanne

Roseanne Barr has published a profane rant on her website attacking Barack (misspelled "Barak") Obama as a supporter of "corporate racist anti worker bullshit." Barr also tears into Oprah Winfrey, who allegedly "plays the race card and the gender card" and is a "closeted republican."

Read an excerpt:

barak obama is an empty suit selling "hope" in lieu of Truth. Oprah Winfrey helped to elect Arnold Swartzenegger. I have no doubt that she voted her purse by doing this, as she is a large land owner in California, and that ilk fears Dems because they do not want to pay their "fair share" of Cali tax. Oprah has given us Swartzenegger and Dr. Phil. If that was not offensive enough to decent thinking people, now she brings us Obama. He has no ideas, no plan and nothing to add other than the cynical pacification of the masses with bedtime stories about hope, while calling Unions "special interest groups" that need to be done away with.

Obama votes with Bush constantly funding this terrible endless war.

Oprah, you play the race card and the gender card too.

You are a closeted republican and chose Barak Obama because you do not like other women who actually stand for something to working American Women besides glamour, angels, hollywood and dieting!

When Americans find out that Obama backs right wing corporate racist anti worker bullshit, they will not vote for him, and the victory will go to the most racist right wing republican ever.... Mccain, who is a fascist!

For what it's worth, Barr praises Hillary Clinton as a "seasoned woman politician with 35 years of experience" and John Edwards as "pro union."

If Roseanne is so highly emotional about electing a woman as president, maybe she should just say so instead of pulling a hissy fit.

Oprah backs, as far as I can tell, projects and politicians who will take us a step forward. Make some progress.

It seems to me that, more and more, Hilary's candidacy has gone from back to the nineties, to back to Steinem, and now back to Carrie Nation and the old battle axes that marched into the taverns to smash whiskey bottles with sledge hammers.

Maybe I lost touch with feminism but can somebody tell me who the real representatives of a new millenium feminism are? surely it cannot be what I am seeing before me. Iron my shirt?? Are you kidding me??

Ever notice how quickly ranting turns tiresome? She looks good blonde though. Next case.

How weird. Once Huffington was a place I went for good news articles and interesting blogs. Why has this establishment chosen to post news articles that are more appropriate for a tabloid. Is that what you are becoming?
Huff, you should be ashamed.

Roseanne reminds me of a line Kirstie Alley delivered on "Cheers:"

"TOO STUPID TO LIVE!"

"race card"

Again, I hate, hate, hate, this term!

People don't even know what it means! She just dropped it and gave absolutely no example of how Oprah plays the "race card" its just supposed to be some magic card that black people can use.

I have not heard Oprah say "vote for Barack because he is black and so am I"

Really??? "Race Card"? As a black woman I really need to find a deck of "Race Cards" and do some experiments with this.

Roseanne's comments = pure nonsense

Rant? She was expressing an opinion in passionate terms. And it was all valid, as far as I can tell. Because the editors of this site worship Obama and his surrogate mother Oprah does not make innoculate them from ridicule or criticism. Free speech is still available in this country, isn't it? Maybe, unless HuffPo doesn't agree with those opinions.

Why is Huff even posting this moron's remarks on the front page. Arent there other issues Huff can report that really matter.

Thank you, Roseanne!

For having the balls for telling it like it is.

If this Barack-hype seems a bit suspicious to all of you out there, then there's a reason for that.

We're all being led by the nose to vote for "a hope and a prayer" and against the only candidate out there that has the know-how to get anything done in D.C.---and, yes, that would be HILLARY.

Roseanne, liked you before --- BUT LOVE 'YA, NOW!

During the rise of the Internet, the Clinton administration also distributed temporary-worker visas to hundreds of thousands of Indians who came to the United States for jobs at high-tech companies.

Both Clintons made repeated trips to India - visits that continued during Hillary Clinton's tenure in the Senate. Between them, Bill and Hillary Clinton have made eight visits to India since 2001,

"Just look back," said Sanjay Puri, who heads the nation's largest Indian American fundraising committee. "The Clintons made a special effort. They went to India. They made a real attempt to reach out to Indian Americans at a time when no one else had done that."

As Clinton pursued a Senate seat in 1999, the Indian American community stepped up its giving. Indian businessman Sant Singh Chatwal raised $500,000 for her in his Upper East Side penthouse, including $210,000 from 14 entities connected to him. Chatwal is now a finance co-chairman for Clinton's presidential campaign, and Clinton aides said they have counted more than $2 million in contributions raised at Indian American events.

Some Indian American connections have benefited the Clintons personally, too. Vinod Gupta, the founder of a Nebraska data-mining firm, has donated more than $1 million to the Clintons' political causes while also paying the former president at least $3.3 million as a business consultant.

Gupta hosted Bill Clinton at the dedication and groundbreaking of the two-story Hillary Rodham Clinton Mass Communication Center he is building on the campus of a women's technical school in rural India. The institution is designed to train India's workforce to better compete in the global marketplace.

Among labor officials, a nagging question about Hillary Clinton's commitment to protecting U.S. jobs stems from a deal she helped broker for Tata Consulting, one of India's largest technology firms. In 2002, Clinton helped Tata land an agreement to open an office in New York State and to work with a Buffalo area university to create at least 100 jobs in the depressed community. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/09/08/politics/main3244256_page2.shtml

Of course Rosanne doesn't like Obama. I mean really, he has intelligence, grace, empathy, hope, family oriented and committed to excellence. None of these attributes can Rosanne claim.
I hope she sings the National Anthem for the candidate she supports. I would love to see that campaign rally.

What can you expect from Roseanne? Look what she said bout gays:
"They don’t care about minimum wage, they don’t care about any other group other than their own self because you know, some people say being gay and lesbian is a totally narcissistic thing and sometimes I wonder. I’ve never heard any of them say anything except for 'accept me 'cause I'm gay.' It's just, it’s screwed up."

It is Roseanne's f^*^ing blog and she can say whatever she wants on it. I don't get these news groups going to people's own blogs and finding fault.

Roseanne should get a Huff account and join the fray!

I can't stand to listen to her, or watch her, but her comments may be correct.
