Last fall Chris Matthews appeared on the "Daily Show" to promote his book Life's A Campaign. During a painful interview, Stewart called the book "a recipe for sadness" and wildly disagreed with its contents for several minutes. Matthews in turn exclaimed, "This is the book interview from hell! This is the worst interview I've ever had in my life!"

Last night on "The Daily Show" a writerless Stewart played a clip of MSNBC's Matthews and sidekick Keith Olbermann making Lawrence of Arabia metaphors to describe Hillary Clinton the night of the New Hampshire primary. He then mocked it with a metaphor of his own. If you can't watch the clip, know that it ends with Stewart saying of Matthews, "That guy is insane."

After a clip from MSNBC's New Hampshire coverage, during which Chris Matthews gives a lengthy analogy about Hillary Clinton and Lawrence of Arabia, Jon Stewart called Chris Matthew "insane". I guess I might be in the minority here, but I like Chris Mathews and watch Hardball regularly.

It's Olberman whom I find a tad annoying, so much so that I cannot get through watching his show, with his rip-off of 'Good Night, and Good Luck' for instance -- annoying. And with all the buzzers and beepers going off during the show I feel like I'm watching some sort of 1970's tv game show.

I think Chris is hot and I love to hear him laugh. You guys are all shit our of luck because alot of people like him. By the way do you know where I can get a nice picture of him to hang up on the wall? He is truly my Rebel with a Cause.

Chris isnt going anywhere. The only people who really hate him are usually Hillary supporters. If you disagree with his politics or other issues than speak to the issues. Hillary supporters are like Republican supporters; believe the spin, hype and make sure not to ask any hard questions. Poor Hillary for having the truth be told. Poor Hillary supporters for having to hear the truth. Don't blame Chris, blame Hillary or better yet Bill.

These people are nothing but professional shysters who are paid way too much attention and money for their drivel. They could easily and better be replaced by the best and brightest in a high school debate team.

Matthews communicates like a shyster or a drunk who won't take responsibility for anything.

I was personally insulted that he expected his audience to believe that he was merely stating historical fact, when mentioning after the NH primary on Morning Joe, that she wouldn't be running for president if her husband hadn't of cheated on her. His long winded explanation as to why he was technically accurate was suppose to make us believe he didn't have ill intent.

And now to me, that it was about Hillary, is almost irrelevant. It is that that arrogant SOB thinks he's going to sway my vote to suit his belief and lie about what he's trying to do. He said he was not trying to diminish her accomplishment. Do you believe that?

Hardball. What a joke. Did Matthes ever play hardball with the Swift Boaters? The only one that's really taken him on lately is Dede Meyers. Good for her. Also I've got to give some credit to Pat Buchanan. He nailed Matthews, the media, and the pollsters.

Matthews vendetta against Hillary Clinton is on view in EVERY Hardball episode. I used to actually like to watch his show before his obsession with HC.

I find both Matthew's and Olbermann's swooning over Obama offensive and unprofessional.

It appears that MSNBC is no longer a cable NEWS network but purely a platform for talking head to force their opinions on viewers. No wonder MSNBC ratings have declined.

He should retire, then he can only interrupt the wife and kids.

Chris is fun to watch. He is totally unfair, a bad interviewer, does not tell truth to power as he likes to think, is biased, scared of women...all this is fun. Hillary could take him downtown and around the corner!

Chris Matthews is a swine plain and oh so simple. How anyone can take him seriously is beyond me. How he can fit a pen in his swine hoof is an amazing trick though. He is well past his 'sell by' date.

Chris Matthews is way overblown. Ever notice how he asks a question of a guest, then refuses to let them answer? And, he slants worse than Faux sometimes. Someday, someone is going to slap him right on the air.
