Last fall Chris Matthews appeared on the "Daily Show" to promote his book Life's A Campaign. During a painful interview, Stewart called the book "a recipe for sadness" and wildly disagreed with its contents for several minutes. Matthews in turn exclaimed, "This is the book interview from hell! This is the worst interview I've ever had in my life!"

Last night on "The Daily Show" a writerless Stewart played a clip of MSNBC's Matthews and sidekick Keith Olbermann making Lawrence of Arabia metaphors to describe Hillary Clinton the night of the New Hampshire primary. He then mocked it with a metaphor of his own. If you can't watch the clip, know that it ends with Stewart saying of Matthews, "That guy is insane."

After a clip from MSNBC's New Hampshire coverage, during which Chris Matthews gives a lengthy analogy about Hillary Clinton and Lawrence of Arabia, Jon Stewart called Chris Matthew "insane". Has Obama asked any Republican yet if they are going to fall inline behind him? When a Rebulican endorses him, I'll believe he is the Messiah Chris makes him out to be.

Matthews has completely lost touch. His rise to celebrity status brought out an ego unmatched by the most stalwart Republicans.

Chris was right! Kucinich is asking for a recount on the NH Primary.

By the way, when is the nerdy neoleftista john stewart going to say something about Roseanna Barr raning against Obama? or is it too difficult to swallow for the "neophite" dixiecrat john stewart that an african-american may occupy the white house?

There are about 15-20 clips you can play from Tuesday night where Matthews rants insanely. At one poiint saying the Clintons will call a premature victory while ahead in polls to steal victory. MSNBC staff were looking for the Dartmouth students like the Clintons locked the students in their dorm rooms. Get Brokaw back!!!

Chris was off his medication again ah? If he remains on TV he needs to hire a visisting nurse to assure he takes his meds everyday.
Glad to see Daily Show Back - But Not Happy he did it w/o his wrters. If he has so much influence with a good portion of US- then why hasn't he pushed for a fair agreement for the writers? Sold out to the Corp Profitters to save his own neck? I'm disappointed in him. I also won't be pushing myself to stay up to watch either him or Stephen until their writers return. Sorry Principle over entertainment.

Stewart's right. Matthews's is insane. Anyone who has watched (or tried to watch) his show for more than 5 seconds comes to the same conclusion.

If you want to watch a show about someone who's in love with the sound of their own voice (Chris Matthews), Hardball is the show for you.

Why is this news? He sounded insane and Jon Stewart makes comments like that about people all the time. I have to say that 'A Daily Show' hasn't been a huge let down either so far and that says something about the host.

it's irrefutable now. exit polls do not lie. Diebold gave NH to Hillary. this is no theory. face the facts:

1/10/2008 2:47AM

"Even the Exit Polls showed that Obama should have won, according to Chris Matthews on Hardball today. It's the first specific indication that we've seen that the raw, unadjusted Exit Poll data, which only corporate mainstream media folks, not mere mortals, are allowed to see, confirmed all of the pre-election polling which predicted an Obama win."

http://www.bradblog.com/?p=5535

CHRIS MATTHEWS: So what accounts for Hillary Clinton's victory in New Hampshire? What we don't know is why the victory is so much different in fact, then the polling ahead of time, including what we call the Exit Polls were telling us. Obama was ahead in those polls by an average of 8 points, and even our own Exit Polls, taken as people came out of voting, showed him ahead. So what's going on here?
