U.S. President George W. Bush said on Friday the United States would have a long-term presence in Iraq that could "easily" last a decade, but that it would be at the invitation of the Iraqi government.

In an interview with NBC News, Bush was asked about recent comments by Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain that it would be fine with him to have a U.S. military presence in Iraq for 100 years.

The 71 year old McCain is the macho boy of the republics, I bet the 89 year old Jack La Lane could kick his ass .

Hmmm. 10 years at 200 billion per year or so. Can we put it on the budget NOW asshole? You pride yourself with having been a CEO. After Sarbanes Oxley you would find yourself in prison for the way you handle the budget. IMPEACH NOW!!!!

Bush says ten; McCain says one hundred. Yet, some of their propagandists still maintain that it's not an occupation, that it's not about what's under the sand. How cavalierly they're willing to sacrifice poor men's lives and the taxpayer's money. In countries where the populace is less distracted by video games and makeup (fewer and fewer, it seems), this would be enough to spark a revolution.

The PNAC, bush, Carlyle Group plan is to put the US military in Iraq, to protect that oil, like we had troop stationed in Europe during the cold war to protect the NATO alliance. And since the early 50's, we've had our troops in S. Korea standing across the border from the nuts in N. Korea.

They see the Islamic threat to their nest egg as too real to retreat back to our shores. It won't happen, no Dem will do it either, especially Hillary.

That's the reality folks, and it sucks.

I can't tell you if the use of force in Iraq today will last five days, five weeks or five months, but it won't last any longer than that.

I think George W. Bush SHOULD stay in Iraq for 10 years--by himself.

Let's set up a trailer and leave him with a fridge full of food and a change of clothing. He can retire there.

And now comes jeersforfears, a prime exemplar of the typical Dupe daily polluting the HuffPost boards, shamelessly exhibiting him/herself as a vacuous, mental midget. For example, treating dissent as a "hate American first" or as as form of treason is right out of the gospel of the Neoconic Fascists in control of the Republican Party, whom he foolishly cheers against his/her own interests. S/he is bereft of any mental capacity for posting a sensible message.

Here is a poster who makes it possible for Shill O'Reilly, Sean Hannutsy, and Rush Limbaloney to garner so much wealth. Moreover, this type poster is one that these three must secretly resent his/her simple-mindedness but at the same time chuckle in gratitude for all the dimbulbs across America just like jeersforfears.

I am going to post this several times per day for several days without apology.

Dodd managed to postpone consideration in the senate of the pending FISA reform acts which would have included provisions granting retroactive immunity to the telecoms for their illegal cooperation with Bush in HIS illegal spying on Americans.

The current bill expires soon and there will be serious pressure to ramrod the bill thru the senate and conference committee. Without a considerable groundswell BEFORE the senate resumes, the bill will be presented and passed so fast it will make your head spin. Then it will go to the briefest of conference committees and the perfectly acceptable house RESTORE ACT will be destroyed with the immunity provisions.

For all the Puritans out there thumping their chests, this is a perfect test of your impeachment fervor. The purpose of immunity is to forestall the inevitable discovery in the 40+ lawsuits pending. It is that discovery that would lay the grounds for CRIMINAL prosecution of Bush and his minions.

For Californians: Diane Feinstein has an amendment to the bill that on the surface seems reasonable, instead of immunity, the lawsuits must first be brought to the FISA courts to judge if the wiretapping was legal in the first place. No. Sorry, I don't trust them that far.

While Dodd was fighting to stall the bill in December, neither Clinton nor Saint Barack could be bothered to return to Washington to fight for yours or my fourth amendment rights. As a point of parlimantary procedure, no senator needs to vote no to cloture (ending a filibuster), it requires 60 votes to bring cloture, regardless of how many senators vote, but we can still insist that our future nominee expend some capital on this issue.

Write, call, e-mail, fax everybody you can think of. And tell HILLARY and SAINT BARACK that much of your decision in the primary will depend on them getting back to Washington and sustaining Dodd's filibuster.

Act now, or don't come on here bitching about congress rolling over for Bush on this one.

The world would have been far better off if George W. Bush had been a blighted ovum.

And of course, by "We", Bush means "someone else who is neither me, nor in my family nor in my close circle of friends".

Aloha.

Don't you just love it when Bush says "We", as if all of America thinks his Iraq mess is O.k.
How about if him and the mouse in his pocket go to Iraq for ten years and live in the green zone! And please take your girlfriend Condi and Cheney with you.
He would love nothing more then for our soldiers to be picked off while protecting his oil. this guy has no sense, no conscience, no morals, and certainly no balls. He thinks he has the later but really it's the military with the balls, he just gives the marching orders.

Well that's 10 times better than McCain who wants to be there 100 years - long range imperialism!
