As for Bill's remark? I think it's disrespectful to African Americans to pretend not to know that he was talking about Obama's lie about being against the war.

He's not a stupid man. He knew full well what Bill meant. And he deliberately stirred the racial pot.

This is going to backfire. I do NOT believe African American voters are stupid, uninformed and can't see exactly what's going on for themselves.

Finally, the past Clinton administration has a strong record for civil rights, and Hillary is right. That IS what matters in terms of getting real legislation passed and implemented.

White, black, red or whatever....until someone rolls up their sleeves and gets it through, nothing changes.

And I am darn certain that voters in the South know exactly what's what and who really gets the job done.

So, are we to have affirmative action democracy for the second black president? This is emotional blackmail at its worst.

I can imagine the pain, given that the spin on these remarks was so very slanted. However, it's clear to me that the Obama campaign has quite a large part of responsibility for this.

More to the point, I fear this election will cause pain to many African American voters.

African Americans are divided over Obama - which is good. If they vote 90% for him, then Whites can cry racism. If they vote who they think will be the best President, and that vote is divided among Democrats, then so what.

Those who cry racism are trying to swing votes against the Clintons who have a earned reputation of doing good and associating with African Americans both in Arkansas, throughout the Whitehouse years, and in New York. Remember Bill has his Presidential Office in Harlem. He likes it there.

Obama is culturally white, as that is how he was raised by his white grandparents. He doesn't have to carry the burdens of most African Americans, but does understand "White guilt" and how to manipulate it.

I suspect most African Americans will use thier heads to sort this out and vote their conscience.

Maybe if Barry starts a-weepin' it will help.
