Ben Nelson Obama Endorsement

AP:

Presidential hopeful Barack Obama won the endorsement Saturday of U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson, a popular moderate in largely Republican Nebraska who said he believes Obama has ability to bridge the partisan divide and to carry Democratic candidates across the country to victory in 2008.

Nelson, pledging his support for his Illinois colleague, said Obama has "the greatest potential to ending the bitterness and poisonous atmosphere in Washington."

HUFFPO, CHANGE THE HEADLINE: Obama said "I HIT THE JACKPOT" not "I am the jackpot." The LAT has corrected the story!

Incredible, Ben Nelson a very conservative democrat endorsing Obama, this has got to be a big boost to his campaign.

Ben Nelson is Republican Lite and usually votes with the Republicans on war issues, this should send a strong message to conservative democrats that the Black guy is acceptable to him and his constituents.

And with the forthcoming endorsement of a female senator Claire McCaskill from the also very conservative red state of Missouri, this will certainly make Hillary and friends a little nervous.

I am sure her surrogates will be striking out at Barack with all sorts of insinuations like his use of cocaine.

Obama you make me proud to be an American again.

Wow! Claire McCaskill! Good for Obama! Claire McCaskill is by far one of the hardest working Senators. Every time I turn on C-Span she is on and she doesn't take any shit. She is right up there with Barbara Boxer in my book.

The dems will screw it up again. Hillary "pandering necon" Clinton or Barack "pandering, hope and cross your fingers" Obama. The true democrat, John Edwards, is ignored. Here's a great quote from David Sirota on Obama: "Barack Obama is contending for the Democratic nomination as a candidate who avoids focusing on economic class. He asks us to believe - nay, to "hope" - that the interests of Wall Streeters underwriting his campaign can somehow be "brought together" with the interests of workers harmed by corporate America's wage, job and pension cutbacks."

oh please ... a "moderate" in Nebraska rated 83% by the self-proclaimed "Christian Coalition" is like a moderate from Texas rated 83% by the "Christian Coalition"

Hillary, Edwards nor Obama will carry the south. Can't be done by a Democrat.

But Obama can carry purple states like NM, PA, OH, CO, NV and therefore win the White House. Hillary can not carry those states because Independents would never vote for her. You all know that's true!

As a Nebraskan I can say Senator Nelson is a man with great morals and strong character. I know he doesn't always vote along party lines but he represents his constituents over party and thats respectable. Good endorsement for Barack! Plus he needs to get more super delegates!!

The Bush family want the Clintons to win because it would help Bill and Hillary legacy and there own. President Bush want Hillary to win more than republicans. He know she would just stay the same track stay in Iraq. This is why Bill has been hanging out with use to be his enemy now they are his friend because they do not want change. Iraq is a money maker folks. It is about oil and money. The Clinton will get part of the this pot.

I would love to see an Obama - Mark Warner (Virginia) ticket. John Edwards is irritating with that accent.
