As far as I can see Tom Cruise did himself in with the Brooke Shield remark. To take someone to task on national television in front of millions of viewers for acting like a responsible adult in dealing with postpartum depression was truly a great low! The man not only showed his ignorance with it but his fanaticism for his religion. The guy who defended him might as well face it most of us are fed up with religious fanatic's who pedal their religion on national television. What made the whole thing worse? It took him a good year to apologize to Brooke Shields. And it was only because public opinion had gone severely against him. They were truly roasting him alive (that's where most of us grew to throughly dislike the man). Brooke showed her graciousness by accepting his pathetic apology. I am like my sister I would have slammed the door in his face! So he is hardly what I would call a generous person. Self-serving yes but not generous. So the man has put himself in the position of being severely criticized. Poor Katie didn't win any prizes with him. She will earn every cent of her prenuptial agreement before she unloads him.

Has there ever been a more unfairly maligned celebrity than Cruise? What, exactly, is it in his 25 years of showbiz (aside from one heated interview with Matt Lauer) that did Cruise to any of us that deserves the scrutiny and rumor-mongering that he has been subjected to? Oh, yeah, he jumped up and down on a sofa. Whoopee. Cruise has generally been one of the warmer, more open, friendly, and outgoing stars of his era. He has always worked the red carpet well, never punched out a photographer, never got "into it" with anyone in public, never been nailed with a DUI or drug possession, never been charged with battery or assault or child or spousal abuse (and he's been married three times). So somebody PUHLEEEEEZE tell me where the venom comes from? His beliefs? Give me a break.

And as far as Holmes...She's nine years older than when she did the Letterman interview. NINE. She did that Lettermnan interview about the time of the Columbine shooting, for crying out loud. She's gotten married, had a child, and matured. Deal with it. And as far as her film roles go: check out The Ice Storm, Wonderboys, or Go! And if you're really brave, see Abandon, a flawed but well-paced psychological thriller from the writer of Traffic.

I am ashamed that on a site such as Huffington's, we have ultra-judgmental, narrow-minded, uncultured morons posting about the goings-on of "Tom and Katie." At least they have a sense of humor: Their "appearance" in David Duchovny's Californication is proof positive...but I'm sure most of you missed that show in favor of watching A Shot with Tila Tequila.

Nicole Kidnman at least can act, anyone who saw Moulin Rouge and some of her earlier movies knows that. Katie might have a career in TV Lifetime movies (I am being kind, LOL) but really does not have the acting ability or appeal for the big screen. Her movies stink, thank God I could turn the channel and didn't acually pay money to see them. She ruined The Lost Boys for me. She ruined the Batman movie. She has a monotone voice and just being cute doesn't cut it on the big screen. I feel sorry for Katie because she seems so miserable and old and done. I think she is realizing that no one wants her in movies, that her bounce from her TV fame from Dawson's Creek that enabled her to be in movies at all is long over.
