Associated Press:

A threatening radio message at the end of a video showing Iranian patrol boats swarming near U.S. warships in the Persian Gulf may have come from a prankster rather than from the Iranian vessels, the Navy Times newspaper has reported.

A video and audio of the Jan. 6 incident in the Strait of Hormuz featured a man in accented English saying "I am coming to you. ... You will explode after ... minutes."

Cmdr. Lydia Robertson, spokeswoman for the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, said the Navy was still trying to determine the source of the transmission but believed it was related to the Iranian actions....

...However, the Navy Times, a weekly newspaper published by the Gannett company, quoted several veteran sailors as speculating the transmission could have come from a radio heckler, widely known among mariners by the ethnically insulting term "the Filipino Monkey."

This is all a propaganda subterfuge. Our Navy knew where this voice came from but the wrong story was repeated every ten minutes on the MSM's TV 'news', on hate Radio and right wing blogs, as well. The drums for war are beating faster and the misinformation is corrupting the body politic. Will nobody tell the truth?

Please - this is another very pathetic attempt to drum up support for a war on Iran. Except nobody is buying it. "... fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —President George W. Bush (Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002).
All things considered, the Iranians are amazingly tolerant of this intrusion - can you imagine how the US would react if North Korea or China had their warships hovering off the coast of California or Hawaii and behaving in a beligerent manner after continual threat of violence? This bullying and egocentrism has just got to stop - it isn't conducive to the peace that the little bushwacker so earnestly seeks in the middle east.

I've heard the Filipino Monkey in the Arabian/Persian gulf many times on bridge - to - bridge radio. That's just his style inserting himself into radio conversations.

BTW he calls HIMSELF "the Filipino Monkey", so saying it's ethnically insulting is kind of misleading.
