Michigan Democrats May Determine Republican Nominee

Democratic voters in Michigan may be a key element in picking the Republican presidential nominee if, as expected, they turn out to be the deciding factor in determining the result of the Michigan primary today.

The race between Senator McCain and Mitt Romney in the Wolverine State is so close that it may be decided by Democratic and independent voters who choose to vote in the Republican primary.

If I were a Dem living in Michigan, I'd be royally PO'd at the DNC for cutting my rights off. (This Dem in Colorado is about to abandon the SOBs at the DNC and the party anyway....)

How dare they tell a whole state when to have their primary, and that they can't send delegates to the national convention? This is voter repression in the true Republican model. No wonder the whole state is red. The Democratic Party can't afford to piss on its own people when it is going to take everyone together to retreive the country from the vote machine rigging fascist neocons warmongering Republicans.

(By the way Mitt dear, my Toyota Corolla was made in Tennessee and has been giving me over 30 miles to the gallon, in city driving, for the last 10 years. It can be done if the American auto makers wanted to.)

NPR morning edition today, the news was Obama/Clinton called for truce on the "race" issue, because it was hurting the party.

At this stage we need to realize to stop this in-fighting and fight together and win the election for the Democratic Party !
This is only a win win situation.

Please Huffy stop this petty blogs !

Today is Presidential Primary Day in Michigan and the voting precincts in Grand Rapids are a war zone. Not between Mitt and McCain, Huckabee and Paul, but between citizens collecting signatures for the recall of State Representative Robert Dean (D-Grand Rapids) and the organized, paid, liberal `blockers' hell-bent on stopping voters from signing the recall petitions.

Blockers were already at the polls when the Dean-recall volunteers arrived this morning to collect petition signatures. And they are nasty!

One senior citizen who tried to sign the recall petitions was yelled at by blockers who told her that she was "breaking the law and signing an illegal petition". These same blockers followed the senior voter to her car, taking repeated, close-up snapshots with a camera and demanding that she produce photo identification to them (the blockers). Police were called, and (as I write this) are trying to sort things out.

The blockers' primary tactic is to lie. First by claiming that Robert Dean didn't vote for any tax increases, and then by telling potential signers that the petitions are illegal and that they are committing a crime by signing. The blockers continue to harass citizens attempting to sign by getting right-up into the signers faces with a camera and taking multiple photos of the citizen's face. Their tactics would be the envy of a third-world dictator attempting to suppress democracy at the polls.

And that is EXACTLY what the blockers are determined to do: suppress citizens' democratic involvement in their constitutional right to engage in the petition and recall process.

Democrats- vote for whom you think is best for the job... other wise you may just get stuck again. Indeed, vote Ron Paul. Check out his standings on internet searches... right up there with your man Barack:

Dammit, dammit, dammit...

This is the most asinine thing i've ever found myself involved in. With some more looking around before i leave to vote, i find that our delegates haven't really been taken away. No, its just that they'll make up their own minds when they get to the convention. I can hear Josef Stalin chuckling from beyond the grave.

So if i go with my original plan and vote Republican, though i don't want any Republican president, i end up voting for Clinton.

If i vote Democratic and vote for Kucinich, it really doesn't matter because the delegates will decide latter...for me. The same goes for voting "uncommitted". Both end up being votes for Clinton, because the Clintons pretty well control the DNC. Keep in mind that the DNC told all the candidates to withdraw from the MI primary; Sen. Clinton did not...and so far as i know has not been punished for it.

F Hillary Clinton; F the DNC; and F my conscience for considering voting to be my civic duty. Oh yeah, and F the representatives in Lansing who started all this by moving the primary in the first place. 17 mother f'ing electoral votes weren't enough for them.

It's a god damned goat rodeo...but maybe i'll get one of those little "I voted" stickers. That's sure to make me feel better.

I actually hope that the Democrats stay in the Democratic primary and either vote for Kucinich, or uncommitted.

Don't let Clinton cakewalk through with another wad of delegates. Let the establishment know that even relatively unopposed in Michigan - Hillary can't take a majority of Democrats.

Kucinich '08!

The Dems should vote for Mitt. Keep this 3 dollar bill in the race. Make them spend more money.

ilistened to ROMNEY talking to a group in michigan..commenting on MCCAINS statment that 'the lost jobs are never coming back to michigan'..MCCAIN is right....lowering taxes , which ROMNEY supports, will not 'bring back' a single lost job.....as long as the auto-makers continue to put forth cars no-one wants...that industry will decline.....no amount of 'tax lowering' will help.........MANUFACTURE WHAT SELLS..... is a very simple business plan.
