Of COURSE Oprah's Network Is Called OWN

Are there no media mountains this woman can't climb? Today Oprah Winfrey has announced that she is will be joining with Discovery Communications to launch a television network in 2009. Its name? "OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network."

You can't make this stuff up.

OWN will replace the current Discovery Health Channel, currently in over 70 million homes. Which means that soon, over 70 million homes will own OWN! Just kidding, they only rent it every month. No one owns Oprah but Oprah — who will now OWN Oprah.

Per TV Decoder:

"In addition to providing her talent, and personal commitment, Winfrey will have full editorial control over the joint venture and will be responsible for OWN's programming, branding and creative vision," a press release stated.

See? Oprah OWNs you, people. Get used to it, if you weren't already. Bonus alternate slogan for extra branding: "Obama Wins Nation!" Ownership has its privileges.

Oprah Winfrey and her show (and now, with her own network..) are designed to SELL product. She's just one big info-mercial, aimed at America's most gullible housewives.

I am hoping that if she has control of what she puts on her network, that she won't control what needs to be said, about the powers that be. A perfect place to start is David Icke's writings.

The public is so completely out of the loop that it's actually stunning. The only way to correct the problem is to grab the bull by the horns and start educating them with the raw facts and truths that they aren't getting now, so they won't buy into more lies, war, and control!!

The public doesn't really realize the handcuffs that have been placed on their wrists and Oprah has a chance to change that. Will she? We'll see!!!

Good. Now, she can put all the evil shows she has created on her own network, Dr Phil, Rachel Ray, comes to mind. This woman has a tremendous sense of hubris and vanity. Wanna do good, why doesn't she start locally? There is much suffering in America and what has she done? Oh yes, I know, a school in Africa has more media coverage ... I used to be a fan of her but I am vey disillisioned.

What is it about Oprah that makes people so angry? I can understand how people get overwrought about politicians, but why her? She's just a celebrity, and apparently a very smart businesswoman, but if you don't like her, don't watch her show. I don't get it.
