Matthew McConaughey's Girlfriend Pregnant: "We Are Stoked"

Laid back movie star Matthew McConaughey, 38, posted a message on his blog Tuesday announcing that he and girlfriend Camila Alves are expecting a baby.
He wrote:

Got some blessed news... a celebration of life and bounty... a newborn conceived.. yes, my girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together... 3 months growin in her womb and all looks healthy and lively so far... we are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being a mother and a father, and shepherding him or her through this life... from moms and dads, to family, to community, it takes the best will and support from everyone to raise the healthiest children we have in society... wish us the best, keep us in your prayers, and God bless evolution... thanks for bein fans of me and my work and now this new and miraculous chapter in my life, as me and Camila and our child do our best to just keep livin... wow, McConaughey

Alves is a Brazilian swimsuit model. Her official website has photos and says she is 22 and 5'10. McConaughey and Alves were snapped at the beach last summer, in Paris in September and in New York in December.

Um dude-age, a baby is not a "gift from God." See, what actually happened was you got a little sperm cell into the uterus and it met with a little egg cell. Then the little sperm cell and the little egg cell spend about 300 days being grown and fed by a woman's body. Then that woman's body goes through the most amazing metamorphosis and contortions to actually give birth to the fetus that it has nurtured.

While I am happy for Mr. McConaughey, has he ever left the 1980s to be so "stoked"? Or is it that he remains a surfer boy? Either way, it is refreshing and I wish the happy couple well.
