Why are Cruises beliefs any stupider than those who think a 70 year old virgin male who wears white dresses and wanders around a palace in Rome while his followers starve, is infallible?
They are both really dumb.
Well, in fact the EPA *was* lying about the toxic chemicals in the air in NY after 9/11.

Doesn't mean Scientology is the answer. It's still creepy as f**k.
And it's a shame that Cruz's hamhanded use of valid problems - also including his invocation of psychiatric over-prescriptions and poor diagnoses - taints these concerns by association with Scientology.
he should probably do more comedy. he's really good at it.
I agree that it's a good thing when you passionately believe in something - but not when you passionately believe in Hitler, KKK, or L. Ron Hubbard.
This is a profit-maximizing corporation that has been preying on, brainwashing the weak and the ignorant, prosecuting and silencing the critics and “enemies” while enjoying the status and privileges of a religion (Neither the UK nor Germany recognizes it as a religion). I detest all religions, but you don't see any other religion set up a “celebrity center” especially catering to the rich and famous. Scientology is becoming so powerful that these actors are either joining it for connections or because they can't act and need to learn how to make an ashtray fly.
Doing a quick search on YouTube I just found most informational videos or documentaries on Scientology were removed...hopefully someone will put them back up soon...

I don't understand this obession with that video they stole/borrowed that everyone is talking about. I didn't watch it but I'm sure he seems fanatical.
But he is an actor - they are very emotional people. I find this less offensive then the eco-hypocrites and their fanatic preaching or someone like James Woods having a relationship with his friend's teenage daughter. But nobody seems to have a problem with that.
The fact is that Tom Cruise didn't have a father and that could make him an easy target for someone coming into his life and having an authoritative role in it. This is the reason some men join gangs. There are worse things out there then being fanatical about your beliefs.

Raelians, not Scientology. Scientologists are fakes. The Raelian faith is the leading UFO religion, believing that we were genetically engineered by an alien race. Sensuality is a required part of the Raelian doctrine, so free sex and sexual orgies are a big plus.
What I find interesting is how much their belief system dovetails with coyote mythology.
I've been an atheist since I was twelve and a Secular Humanist for the past 10 years, but this did it. I'm joinin' up! How could Jebus ever conquer the rationality of L. Ron Hubbard.
Walk around Clearwater FL, the HQ and you'll see them strutting around in their uniforms - yes uniforms - that look like SS uniforms. I saw this in the late 90's when visiting my sister who lived there. I said what is this and who are these people. And they saluted each other - what's with that shit? Was Nazism a religion?
Is this how he gets into character for that Nazi movie he's in?
Just wondering. :)
A long way from David Geffen's couch. I would have stuck with Geffen. At least he doesn't preach Xenu-tia.
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
A complete lack of any is terrifying.
YIKES.
