Clinton And Johnson

CNN:

High-profile Hillary Clinton supporter Bob Johnson is apologizing to Barack Obama for comments he made last week regarding the Illinois senator's acknowledged drug use as a teenager. Johnson said he sent a letter to Obama Thursday morning and said he was also reaching out by phone.

The founder and former chief executive officer of Black Entertainment Television created a stir and drew wide criticism after a Clinton campaign stop in Columbia, South Carolina January 13 when, in defending the Clintons' record on civil rights, he said, "to me, as an African-American, I am frankly insulted that the Obama campaign would imply that we are so stupid that we would think Hillary and Bill Clinton, who have been deeply and emotionally involved in black issues since Barack Obama was doing something in the neighborhood - and I wont say what he was doing, but he said it in the book - when they have been involved."

Blacks learning
Hillary Was AGAINST the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Feel Deceived !

A March 12, 2007 article written by acclaimed Washington columnist Robert Novak sheds a very revealing light on the true sentiment of Hillary Clinton during the peak of the Civil Rights Movement.
In an attempt to attract black support Hillary Clinton regularly shares her 'civil rights experience' during every speech given to blacks audiences. Novak writes of one such speech at Selma's First Baptist Church on the 42nd anniversary of the "bloody Sunday" freedom march there, where Sen. Clinton declared: "As a young woman, I had the great privilege of hearing Dr. King speak in Chicago. The year was 1963. My youth minister from our church took a few of us down on a cold January night to hear [King]. . . . And he called on us, he challenged us that evening to stay awake during the great revolution that the civil rights pioneers were waging on behalf of a more perfect union." But Novak's article states that there's a big problem with her statement.

The fact is, in 1963, the same period of time she speeks of at all black church appearances, not only was Hillary Clinton a republican, but she was also a staunch supporter of republican Senator Barry Goldwater, well known as a segregationist and adamently against the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which is why he lost in his presidential bid to Lyndon B. Johnson. Novak writes "...how then could she be a 'Goldwater Girl' in the next year's presidential election?" He continues, "...she described herself in her memoirs as 'an active Young Republican' and 'a Goldwater girl, right down to my cowgirl outfit.' (Hillary worked on Goldwater's presidential campaign)
Novak adds, "As a politically attuned honor student, she must have known that Goldwater was one of only six Republican senators who joined Southern Democratic segregationists opposing the historic voting rights act of 1964 inspired by King. Hillary later headed Young Republicans in college.

...so he finally came around, did he? Bob Johnson, the idiot, finally realized that Sen. Obama will be the next POTUS, and that his shameful, derogatory comments about the Senator would not be forgotten...

...about time...

I think it’s totally appropriate that Mr. Johnson apologized. It was the right thing to do. But I still find it somewhat of a double standard that the Clinton campaign is expected to hold it’s representatives accountable, no matter if they are just a lowly volunteer, a mid level staff member, or high powered supporter. And yet Obama and his campaign seem to never be held to the same standard of accountability. Obama admitted(after first giving a flat denial that they were involved)that his campaign had made up memo’s insinuating that the Clinton’s were racist to push the racial story along in the press (thereby enflaming racial tensions, in hopes of turning the African American community against the Clintons, who up until these baseless allegations of racism, had always had a sterling reputation with African American communtiy). Why is no one in his campaign being held to that same high standard demanded of the Clintons? Why was no one on his staff fired? Obama’s co-chair Jesse Jackson Jr. made outrageous public statements about Hillary Clinton ( his rant about ‘Hillary crying about her hair, but won’t cry for Katrina victims’) and yet he was never asked to apologize, let alone being asked to resign. Why is it acceptable to hold Clinton to a high standard, even as Obama succeeds in avoiding any and all acountability?

How can such a brilliant man as Robert Johnson put Hillary at the head of the civil rights battle when she was a Goldwater Girl in 1964, the year MLK won the Peace Prize. I can't believe he's that misinformed.

Bob Johnson is a stuck up snob. He is an ostentatious jerk. I have met him, and he is the same mindset as other ultra-rich elitists...he has money, and that makes him better than you.
Now, Oprah is the same way, only she hides it well.
Rumsfeld has this same haughtiness: a supreme jerk and racist.
Hillary exudes smugness.
Obama possesses confidence.
Edwards is a mixed message.
Kucinich is humble.

I have no hate for Hillary the person. However, I question the way she is running her campaign. In the Black community there is a term called "negroes for hire." Hillary has a few of those that she is trying to unelash on Obama so that she does not come across racist to African-Americans who might otherwise vote for her.

Except these "negros for hire" are sell-outs and wouldn't know integrity if it hit them in their faces. They attack, then they apologize. And Hillary just rides the wave without standing for anything or standing up or against anything.

This country is tired of issues that are political gossips. We are interested in your voting record Hillary and how you defend it and spin it. Nothing else matters to me rather than the candidates' actions or inactions. Hillary Clinton is failing miserably in both.

I guess I'm supposed to be attacking People's choices, however....

I'm trying to understand... If you're a US Citizen with Black skin, according to the Media Talking Heads, you will vote for Obama because he has Black skin.... "Obama can expect a lot of votes from the Southern States, because there is a lot of Black People there"... Dang that sounds Racist to me... I don't get it... Your skin color takes away critical thinking? Black People vote by skin color, not by well researched choice? Unless you vote by skin color, you betray Black America? Every Person I have dealt with who has Black skin is very capable of actual, thinking, intelligence and choice, but when it comes to voting, that supposedly goes out the window? HUH? Peer pressure is best described as inner pressure to be accepted by others...

Bob Johnson implied that Obama was using drugs, including Cocaine, when the Clinton's were fighting for Civil Rights... Basically, according to Obama, timing wise, that is most likely a Fact of Life! But Bob Johnson is NOT supposed to state facts, because Bob and Obama both have Black skin? HUH? Black skin Limits free speech? Limits critical assessment of another Person with Black skin? Do Civil Rights have skin Color restrictions? Do Persons with Black skin have to belong in and to a "created/ segregated" Black America? Is there a learned "peer pressure" to be a Black Person, rather than a Person with Black skin? The Media keeps talking about a Black Person possibly becoming President... Without the "skin cover" does a Black Person appear different then a White Person? Does skin Color Dictate Personhood?

I recall when it was controversial for a Politician to have smoked pot as a teen, or as a College Student... Now, even bringing up the Fact that someone used Cocaine is supposed to be shrugged off, as an unfair attack? If Hillary had said she did Cocaine when younger, would that supposedly be off limits, too?

(Sits down... Sighs deeply... Gazes into Mind... Wonders what kind of World we are creating..... )

Maybe instead of 'elections' they need to treat the job like jury duty...you have to have a Damn Good Reason for not doing it/taking it...?

Will Obama spiritual advisor apologize for the remarks he made about president Clinton?

To quote another poster
"Obama DOES NOT have the backgroud fighting for African American rights as the Clintons do"

Some of Obama's achievements for the African American community: As a community organizer, Obama helped 150,000 African Americans register to vote. As a civil rights lawyer, Obama litigated employment discrimination, housing discrimination, and voting rights cases. As a State Senator, Obama passed one of the country's first racial profiling law and helped reform a broken death penalty system.

Obama has spent his entire professional career fighting for all of our civil rights. He didn't spend over a decade as a corporate litigator and sitting on corporate boards (not that there is anything wrong with either of those activities but they are hardly civil rights work)

Don't Hillary supporters realize that the more people look into these kinds of absurd claims about Obama, the more they are going to realize they aren't getting the truth from you all?

Another quote "instead of an African American...which he really isn't by the way."

Obama's father was Kenyan. His mother was American. How does that make him not African-American?

And if the implication is that you can't be black if one of your parents is white - well, in the days of slavery and Jim Crow the law most certainly saw you as black. It would be funny if it weren't so painful to hear liberals use the "light-skinned negro" argument.

Does anybody know the number of times CLinton's campaign and its supporters have had to apologize to Obama???????

I have an idea for the Clinton campaign; stop doing shady shit and you wont have to apologize to Obama any more.

Although the odds of Hillary running a clean campaign are slim to none. So keep that letterhead ready.

Put the boot in, then apologise!

Happens quite often to Obama!

Too late Bob, you're still seen as a bought and paid for puppet!
