Edwards: O'Reilly "Has No Idea What He's Talking About"

Tonight, speaking in front of a roomful of homeless vets, Edwards responded, "I heard that, last night, Bill O'Reilly, who's a talk show host, who's heard that I have said this about hundreds of thousands of veterans who don't have a place to live, and were homeless. And he challenged me about whether that's true or not, whether, in fact, we have that many veterans who don't have a place to live, and some of them are sleeping under bridges. Well, he ought to start by coming to Las Vegas, if he wants to know what's going on.

"America has the responsibility to do something about this. We do. And the fact that this talk show host, Bill O'Reilly, is willing to speak out that blatantly, when he has no idea what he's talking about, is an example of how America doesn't understand the problem, doesn't understand how serious this issue is."

In todays Joplin Globe (Joplin,Mo.) there was a lengthly story about home less vets and at least Edwards fight with the "no spin zone" is making this public. But as usual the main stream media isn't giving Edwards any credit for bringing this to the publics attention

I wonder if O'Reilly and Limbaugh are siblings, they both seem to be born from pigs? I mean ordinarily I would think there are some things even a pig won't do but in this case it makes me wonder.

O'Reilly is right.

Where did Edwards get that notion that 200,000 veterans are sleeping on grates and under bridges? He just made up that number.

And if he really did travel the country counting them all, why didn't he offer to put them up in one of the thirteen bedrooms at his place? If he put bunkbeds in the six hundred square foot Master Bedroom, he could probably sleep twenty five veterans right there.

Why, for just the cost of a haircut ($400) a homeless veteran could stay an entire MONTH at a SRO.

He's a typical Democrat though. He thinks that problems need to be solved with OTHER peoples money.

Okay, this does it. I've been on the fence about Hillary/Obama/Edwards for months now, but John Edwards gets my vote. No only do I agree with his policies, but he has the balls to call O'Reilly on his brainless bullshit. Now if Edwards will just clock him, I will send him another check.

O'Reilly is a moron. It took me less than 30 seconds to google "homeless vets". Why can't he find out this info. with a staff of researchers--because he doesn't care about reporting facts.

For those doubters about the number of homeless vets, check out the link below which contains a chart of homeless vet numbers by state (provided by the VA) as of 2006. It says, as of 2006 there were 195,827 homeless vets. In Illinois (my state) there are 2197 homeless vets and funding for only 770 beds in homeless shelters

O'Reilly? Small, mean, petty man, dangerous because his garbage fills the television venue. Take away his public stage. Let him keep his money and restrict him to spewing his stuff to a few cronies in a bar setting.
