Clinton And Obama Black Voters

New York Times:

The People's Voice African-American Weekly News in tiny Roanoke, Ala., has not endorsed a candidate in the state's Democratic presidential primary on Feb. 5 -- much to the frustration of its publisher, Charlotte A. Clark-Frieson, a Barack Obama supporter.

"I'm trying to get ready to endorse him, but my board is so split," Ms. Clark-Frieson said.

This Hill-O split could be what Edwards needs to be taken seriously. He is not in bed with large corporations. And he does well in polls that line him up against various Republican candidates. He's exactly what corporate America does NOT want, so media corporation reporters do not take him as seriously as Hill and O. I know Edwards is still a white male, but so was Bill Clinton.

IF Obama is the nominee, the republican will win the Whitehouse all the way to Congress. We are heading now towards recession, stock market is hitting a nosedive. You want a GREENHORN to be the nominee for the Democratic Party and the ONLY experience is community organizer? According to Obama when he was a state legislator, it was a PART TIME POSITION.

Sure! vote for Obama this primary, all he has going for himm he's black and articulate and a fresh face. Obama is not a uniter he's a DIVIDER, he's not different from that man sitting at the Whitehouse right now.

BUSH & OBAMA have the same platform in their campaign.

I hope all minorities realize what the Clintons are doing to Obama. Obama campaigned as a "person" and was successful in IOWA. Immediately, the clintons painted him as a "black" (through surrogates: shaheem, cuomo, bill clinton, rangel, johnson). This is the way you beat an african american in the south. Bring up the race card. I still cannot understand how the Clintons still have 16% of the minority vote in South CArolina. They should have ZERO.
EL GALLO, NEW GENERATION CUBAN-AMERICAN, INDEPENDENT, SI SE PUEDE, OBAMA 08!

Hillary Clinton had taken over 14 Million dollars from washington lobbists, 4 Million from the health care industry, and 18 Million from banks and real estate. This is the woman that is telling us she will once again get us all health care. Give me a break.

Google opensecrets.org for all this info. Take a good look and see how many favors she has to repay.

Edwards in 08 to clean up washington

I posed an argument earlier as to blacks support for Hillary over Obama, now let me pose another that no one has to date argued.

If Hillary Clinton was not running, black would be all over Barack Obama, but alas there are the Clintons beaconing to them. Just maybe Obama's electability has nothing to do with why black are not voting for him, the stronger argument is that blacks have 'Mad Love' for Bill Clinton, insane as he appears to be at this moment. Let me now back up this argument by saying that Jessie Jackson won several primaries even though he was never a serious mainstream candidate.

In conclusion I am left with the inevitable, black will not vote for Obama in large number, because of Bill Clinton.

I think the heart of the matter should be that Hillary actually said and believes that this Monday we should honor LBJ not MLK.Hello black America ?

To us e a bible metaphor, the same that MLK maded. We (blacks) have wondered the desert for 40 years after our Moses (MLK) freed us from Pharoh (whites), but like the Jews of old we were afraid to cross the river and take our promise land. Obama is our Joshua, and people like Rep. Lewis is part of the older generation who are holding us back!

If you are Black in America, our best chance to rid ourselves of the last reminence of slavery is to vote Obama. The worst thing we could do is vote Hillary, a vote for Hillary means we go back to the plantation!

VOTE OBAMA!

I am sensing a stampede up in Harlem for Obama. Definitely there has been a surge in the last ten days.

I would argue that Black Americans should vote for the person with the best track record on getting things done for the African American community...and that is Hillary Clinton. To vote for Obama, simply because he is a black candidate, is a idiotic as NOT voting for him for the same reason. Obama should win on merit, not because he is a certain color. Hillary has consistently helped Blacks and other minorities via her votes in the Senate, and as First Lady...that is what should count to Afriacn Americans.

I think everyone gets too upset over this.

For those old enough to remember, some African Americans didn't outwardly support Dr. King and the civil rights movement either. They had various reasons why they didn't, they were afraid of losing their jobs, they were complacent due to frame of reference, they were afraid of losing their lives, homes, etc.

Its wasn't a big deal, no one got mad at them or called them names. Instead they said its okay sister or brother, I'm marching on your behalf because I know deep in your heart you want this movement to succeed... and it did. People came from all races and walks of life and helped propel the movement that changed America.

Some African Americans today may have many reasons why they can't support Obama. Maybe they don't agree with his policies, maybe they feel obligated to the Clintons, maybe they think he can't win the DNC nomination or the National Race... but I'm here to say, its okay my sisters and brothers I and many others, from all races and all walks of life, will go and vote for him because we know that deep in your hearts you want this Nation to be united and succeed.

BET Founder Apologizes to Obama

The New York Times confirmed that he sent a short e-mail apology to Mr. Obama.

It reads:

Dear Barack:

I’m writing to apologize to you and your family personally for the un-called-for comments I made at a recent Clinton event. In my zeal to support Senator Clinton, I made some very inappropriate remarks for which I am truly sorry. I hope that you will accept this apology. Good luck on the campaign trail.

Warm Regards,

Bob Johnson

Sounds super sincere. I’m still waiting for Hillary to apologize, and while she’s at it, she can admit her Iraq vote was wrong.

OBAMA PICKS UP SEN. LEAHY ENDORSEMENT!

There is not a more honest or respected person to be found in US government than Senator Patrick Leahy. He will not expect Obama to be indebted to him for anything and his endorsement is not at all based on personal gain. He has chosen Obama because he believes that Obama is the right person for the job at this time. We need change and Obama is very inspiring and has the ability to pull our nation together. Let's jump on that bandwagon and instead of always being cynical, pull together to make America a great country again that we can all be proud of.
