On Tuesday night, the pals went on a double date with their wives at the exclusive Upper East Side eatery Sfoglia, where they enjoyed a three-hour meal.

The next day, Seinfeld, Cruise and his daughter Suri were spotted together again, and paid a visit to Seinfeld's garage. (The comedian is a car enthusiast.)

As for how the friends became close, "[Jerry] and Tom Cruise both have homes in Telluride, Colo., which is their connection," says a rep for Seinfeld, who last year revealed that he'd dabbled in Cruise's religion, Scientology.

Cruise is a Scientology marketing tool and therefore must always be a positive and enthusiastic public relations role model.
He, nor any other Scientologist, is an outspoken critic of American foreign or domestic government policy, and his role in a movie about the Iraq invasion is incidental.
Scientology is designed to insulate its' flock from the realities of the real world unless there is a disaster which they can exploit and turn into a recruitment drive.

Jerry has the expression of being under control and over a barrel.

Perhaps he has been framed so tight he cannot even move. Poor guy.

Here's a little secret to all the Scientologists
who actually believe in Thetans...it was only
used to get the religious tax exemption status
from the IRS. If you go into Scientology
without a mind they will be happy to provide
you with one. They also have a very good
technology for building a successful life
but you have to be careful because you might
meet some messed up people who are just like
you. You might also meet some great people who
want to learn.

I think Seinfeld is hilarious and a truly creative man. Cruise is only hated by people who basically copycat other haters so that speaks for itself. In fact, the vast majority of people enjoy his movies and couldn't care less about his personal life.

As an aside, it turns out that Cruise---as arrogant and unpleasant as he was in attacking anti-depressants---was in actual fact correct. There was a disclosure just today that the drug companies hid more than half of their studies that showed those drugs were either outright harmful or less effective than sugar pills. I thought Cruise came off as a total prick, but he was right about those drugs.

Good luck with all that.

Surely their more relevant connection is that Seinfeld has taken several Scientology courses?

That sounds about right....some of the most arrogant, objectionable, unpopular and out of touch with reality celebs hanging out. This is as it should be.
