Romney and an AP reporter had words over the candidate's statement that lobbyists aren't running his campaign at an event in Columbia, S.C. The reporter interupted to point out that Ron Kaufman, a senior advisor, is a lobbyist.

So, if I understood the Romney hack properly, "acting professional" = accepting without question every lie that comes from the campaign? What a load of (insert bleep here)! I know the Romney's of this world expect our press corps to act like kindly little stenographers; however, there are some reporters out there, who actually know what their jobs really are. Good for this man and I hope he never backs down.

When will this Ken doll go back in his box? He gives new meaning to the word mendacity.

It was so great to see Romney pwned by AP's Glen Johnson. He was delivering a blatant lie and Johnson wasn't going to let him get away with it. Wow, this is heartening in this looney tunes world of deceit, manipulation, and yellow journalism.

Unless you want more of the same, DON't vote for this guy. This guy is really scary. What comes out of his mouth is totally what this country and our people do NOT need. he isn't on the side of the people at all, not even close. Folks, read between the lines in what he is saying and what comes out of his mouth. The dude is BAD news.

That reporter earned a gold medal in that argument.

But Mitt won silver.

I think if you had said going into that two-person argument that Mitt would get the silver, he would have been pretty happy with that. Now it's on to the next argument, and maybe he'll get the gold next time.

Boy, you get a reporter inside an Office Depot and they grow spines! That'll teach Romney to pick his photo op locations more carefully.

I was expecting, and kind of hoping, that that video would make Romney look foolish, but Romney absolutely fed it to that guy.

I wrote to Romney's campaign and said if they don't respect a journalist's *responsibility* to get relevant information to the voting public and thought intimidating journalists was appropriate I would, henceforth, assume everything coming from their campaign is untrustworthy.

A reporter actually calling a politician out on his obvious horseshit position is so unheard of in this country that it becomes a story all on its own. Pretty sad state of affairs.

First reporter I've seen with balls in the 2008 election. I guess it's "not professional" for a reporter to question bullshit statements from the next potential world leader.

Too bad someone didn't ask some "unprofessional" questions in the lead up to the Iraq war. Maybe Judith Miller can be forced to watch this video over the course of some good old fashioned water boarding.

The fact of the matter is that Romney is the "darling" of the corporate elite. He is their favored choice to win the presidency. Not McCain. Not Huckabee. And Giuliani and Thompson don't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning their party's nomination. That leaves three choices remaining for the Republicans -- Romney, McCain and Huckabee. And if the corporations could handpick their candidate, it would be slick Mitt.

He has demonstrated a unique ability to say anything that he thinks the audience wants to hear -- and with a straight face, thereby meeting another important criteria of the corporate elite -- namely, of being an accomplished liar. (Why is it that the Republicans have an almost total monopoly on politicians who will sell their souls for profit and gain?)

He's firmly on both sides of every issue. He actually told the Michigan voters that he would save the automobile industry in the U.S. when he is actually strongly in favor of the outsourcing and globalization effort. McCain at least had the character and integrity to tell the voters the truth -- that it is likely that those jobs will never return to the U.S. again.

As a Mass. citizen, I can tell you he did NOTHING for Massachusetts despite all sorts of elaborate promises when he ran.

He's nothing but a polished pretty boy who apparently will say and do anything to get elected.
