BraveNewFilms Finds The Homeless Vets That O'Reilly Denies

First Posted: 3/28/08 Updated: 5/25/11

Foxattacksvets

It's painfully evident that the zeal with which John Edwards throws himself into the work of standing up for Americans who live in poverty utterly shames Fox's millionaire infotainment celebrity Bill O'Reilly. That's why he's taken to defaming Edwards at every turn, labeling him a "phony" for not behaving as the gentry should - which is to lay back with uncalloused hands and defame the poor for their laziness, I guess. Anything else would be declasse!

So when John Edwards noted the existence of homeless veterans - people who's work for the country couldn't be disputed, O'Reilly mocked Edwards and denied that homeless veterans even exist.

Well, the sad truth is out there, and Robert Greenwald's BraveNewFilms went and found it - the very homeless veterans that Edwards spoke of in his concession speech in Iowa. Not a few of them seem to take issue with O'Reilly's take on the matter. All of them exhibit considerably more class than Fox's bellicose fop.

"We're still looking for all the veterans sleeping under bridges," O'Reilly mocks. What? Doesn't Fox News have cameras and reporters? Oh, that's right! O'Reilly only sends those to ambush people with homes!

Mr. Bill,
You probably got molested by a priest when you were an altar boy. Oh, sorry, I can't know that. You make ridciulous statements, so therefore I can make ridiculous statements.

However, on your next trip to Vegas, if you look, you will find more homeless veterans in tents, than you will illegals. The illegals have better housing than the vets in Las Vegas. There is a homeless veterans shelter there, that houses about 180 vets, which is only a small portion compared to the number of vets homeless in the Las Vegas area. If it's still there, look for "tent city" in Las Vegas. I found out about it from an "illegal."

With all due repect Bill, had you bowed to the Bishop, I'm sure you did it with faith and conviction, and it would help explain your anger towards us, the citizens of the United States. We, the real men of our country, will not give over to loud mouth bigots who have more hot air than facts; and who never served.

If your only concerns today are "what should I wear to the cocktail party on Saturday night?" or "should I spend the winter in my Palm Springs home or my Miami home?" or "should I get the cream Mercedes of the blue?" then you don't want to see or hear about someone sleeping out in the rain and scrounging for food. And if the knowledge of folks suffering terribly right here in Amerika forces itself on you, then in your mind you have to justify why you have it so good and they have it so bad. So you see yourself as more deserving - smarter, cleaner, prettier, better, closer to God maybe, and you see them as undeserving - lazy, crazy, alcoholic, drug-abusing, not too bright, robbers trying to get your money out of your own well-tailored pockets. (The truth is that the rich are robbing from the poor with government's help.) Vets are a special class: deserving by virtue of their service to the country. They don't fit neatly into this "I'm rich because I'm good and you're poor because you're bad" mentality. So O'Reilly must justify their suffering: They're dopers and crazies. There. Now we can all be comfortable again and keep our blinders firmly in place.

Bill is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!! How would he know? He never live under a bridge. He dose not have to relive what America's best went through in combat. He dose not understand the military. Most citizen do not understand the military. Only those who serve understand what goes on. So it is stilly. I pray for our troops every night!!!!!! May GOD give them peace, hope, grace, mercy, love, joy, but most of all love.

Good news for those homeless VETs, Billo said he would pay for them to get shelter, unless he was lying again.

There is no way for 473 days of e-mail to dissappear without a well thought out plan, focused effort and access to every server which carried the emails. If indeed their are no remaining copies anywhere in the free world, it could only have occurred via a Criminal Conspiracy. Perhaps we can count on AT&T to provide their copies. Don't hold your breath.

Wow, being censored twice in two days. I must be pissing off the right people.

Welcome to the world of "liberal free speech". Only the Libs are allowed to voice opinions.

Were it not for the fact that I hate O'Reilley so much I wouldn't say anything but, he ought to be barred from journalism, that's my personal opinion. Arguing with his is like trying to make sense with a clinically retarded individual who simple cannot learn.

O'Reilly uses his platform to continually trumpet war. He loves war! Only war causes casualties who may come home mentally or physically wounded. It is on these otherwise courageous heroes whom O'Reilly casually turns his back.

He'd be hanging from that bridge, naked and alive. At least, alive at first.

O'Liely should be eternally grateful that I am not a ranking and powerful member of the elite. If I were, and not totally in thrall to the powers that be, O'Liely would be hanging from a bridge in Tikrit.

As all cults, nomads and tribes conservativesalso need leaders to keep them from going over the edge of a flat earth. Maybe Mitt Romney is such a leader.

I think we all agree here. The Republican leadership during the last seven years is a complete failure in many areas, and the homeless veterans is merely one.

Support The Troops. Bush Cheney,ChickenHawks #1 and #2 in the words of the Vice President himself, can get fucked

Blame lies squarely with Ronald Raygun and is a direct by-product of Republican rule over our land for the past 30 years. He started the homeless predicament in California by closing all the state mental hospitals. And then when he went to the WH it was expanded nation wide.

It's the pull yerself up by the boot strap mentality as if to say that if I can do it anyone can regardless of mental capacity. The people on the street are deranged and I'm sure feel hopeless. Because when it comes to the mentally ill who's to say that it isn't a factor of constantly being kicked to the gutter by the ruling class?

Edwards said over and over that there are 200,000 veterans sleeping under bridges.

O'Reilly said it's not true.

It's not true. Homelss doesn't mean you don't have shelter or food.

Now Edwards has begun to say there are 200,000 homeless veterans and some are sleeping under bridges.

IOW, Edwards is FOS or ... if you prefer ... a phony.
