UPDATE: New releases from the Obama campaign:

Statement from Barack Obama:

"We're proud of the campaign we ran in Nevada. We came from over twenty-five points behind to win more national convention delegates than Hillary Clinton because we performed well all across the state, including rural areas where Democrats have traditionally struggled. The reason is because tens of thousands of Nevadans came out to say that they're tired of business-as-usual in Washington and ready for a President who can bring this country together, take on the lobbyists and special interests, and end the politics of saying and doing whatever it takes to win an election. It is the kind of politics that feeds our cynicism and distracts us from taking on the real challenges facing America - an economy that's left working families struggling, a broken health care system, and a war in Iraq that must end.

"We ran an honest, uplifting campaign in Nevada that focused on the real problems Americans are facing, a campaign that appealed to people's hopes instead of their fears. That's the campaign we'll take to South Carolina and across America in the weeks to come, and that's how we will truly bring about the change this country is hungry for."

Statement from Obama campaign manager David Plouffe:

"We currently have reports of over 200 separate incidents of trouble at caucus sites, including doors being closed up to thirty minutes early, registration forms running out so people were turned away, and ID being requested and checked in a non-uniform fashion. This is in addition to the Clinton campaign's efforts to confuse voters and call into question the at-large caucus sites which clearly had an affect on turnout at these locations. These kinds of Clinton campaign tactics were part of an entire week's worth of false, divisive, attacks designed to mislead caucus-goers and discredit the caucus itself.

"We will investigate all of these thoroughly and would encourage anyone who had concern about actions at the caucus sites to call (866) 675-2008."

RE: The Clintons and the Discredited Caucus

Barack Obama is very proud of the effort that he and his campaign have made in Nevada. As people head to their Caucus sites this morning, we have closed over a 25-point gap in a state where Hillary Clinton was the choice of much of the political establishment and enjoyed huge advantages in terms of name identification. In a very short period of time, our campaign has built an amazing grassroots network and has brought thousands of Independents and disillusioned Republicans into the Democratic Party. These efforts will go a long way to ensuring that Senator Obama wins this critical swing state when he is the nominee.

We expect to do well today and a win in Nevada for Obama would be a significant upset. As University of Nevada Reno Political Science professor put it - "If she loses Nevada, it's not just a loss. It's a collapse."

Our hope is that today's caucus comes off without a hitch and as many people as possible participate, however we remain concerned that the tactics of the Clinton Campaign and their allies in recent days have confused voters and could lower participation.

And now, according to Jon Ralston, allies of the Clinton Campaign may be planning to challenge voters at the at-large precincts. It is a sad day when Democrats start trying to suppress the vote of other Democrats.

Beginning with the lawsuit filed by their allies to suppress turnout among union members, the Clinton Campaign has been engaged in a systematic effort to discredit the process - a process which was pushed, developed, and approved by their supporters at the Democratic National Committee and in Nevada. It wasn't until Obama began gaining strength in a state they expected to win by at least 20 points that they began their attempts to delegitimize the process.

Former President Clinton said that this caucus "was not like an election" and that it disenfranchised voters. Even though the lawsuit was rejected as completely meritless by a federal judge, we remain concerned that the specter of the lawsuit has confused voters and threatens turnout at the at-large precincts, which may have been the intent of the Clinton allies all along.

The Clinton Campaign has also repeated the efforts it made in the closing days of the New Hampshire primary by launching knowingly false attacks on Barack's opposition to Yucca, his 100-percent pro-choice rating, and position on Social Security. There have been push polls and robocalls pushing these false attacks.

And just last night, former President Clinton made two false and outrageous allegations, distorting a radio ad that does not even mention Senator Clinton and accusing the Culinary workers, whose support both Clintons furiously sought, of engaging in deliberate voter suppression. (See full story on the comments below.)

The conduct of the Clinton Campaign in recent weeks essentially makes the case for why we need Barack Obama - it's the same old-style say anything or do anything to win, divisive attacks that have prevented progress in this country for so long.

Let me understand this... First a statement by Obama about a clean uplifting Campaign... Then his surrogate, blasts the Clinton's with all kinds of accusations... So Obama's idea of clean and uplifting is to have his surrogates do the dirty work? Over 200 reports of incidents? Then imply it was the Clinton's doing... How do I know it was not Obama surrogates doing them? Or the Union who endorsed him doing some strong arming and game playing? The whole piece was a hit piece and spin from Obama... Slick... Very slick... Because we say it, that makes it true and the Clinton's dirty Politicians...
Obama says, when Bill Clinton says things wrong about him, I will confront it... Implication, Clinton is misleading people... Did he offer examples on the spot? NO! Guess there was nothing to challenge, just implied wrongs? Kudos to Obama... You are as slick a Politician as I have seen... Your Campaign and surrogates are becoming expert at manipulating the MSM... You have played the whole Race Card well... I bet many people still believe the Clinton's made put downs of Blacks and MLK... Slick... Very slick work....
You, Obama, acknowledged the Nevada Caucus Rules gave you unfair advantage and failed the Character and Integrity test, by failing to speak against that... In Fact, implied the Clinton's wanted the advantage, so you said... But actually, the Clinton's spoke of the unfairness to the Caucus attendees... You did NOT do so... Clean and uplifting? Nope, just very slick and manipulative... You, Obama, acknowledge a Rules advantage, then brag of how well you did?

This is just Obama campaign bullshit. He claims voter suppression because the Clinton caucus handbook claims the caucus attendance deadline is at 11:30am? So what does Obama have on his own website?

Obama: "tired of business-as-usual"

There has never been a more "business-as-usual" campaign than Obama's.

I couldn't hold my nose long enough to vote for either him or Hillary.

Sad to see the whining crybabies from Obama's camp trying to discredit yet another election/caucus just because they didn't win. They tried it after New Hampshire too, using the trollish Kucinich to call for a recount because they didn't want to be on record doing it themselves. Now this BS about Nevada, after the Obama people race-baited Clinton yet again -- this time using Hispanics -- and tried to intimidate caucus-goers. If Clinton had pointed out how Obama instructed out-of-state college students and others to flood Iowa and fake residence in order to caucus there, they would have been denounced for it. Yet another example of Obama's hypocrisy and sleazy tactics.

It takes real nerve to accuse another campaign of doing what you yourself have done, but the Obama camp doesn't lack for nerve -- just shame.

I have a hunch that the latino vote was more about star power. Hillary Clinton has basic name recognition, and Bill Clinton is a star to them.

One thing remains the same, College educated and civic minded individuals overwhelmingly vote for Barack. Barack is the candidate of Thomas Paine.

But it seems fair to assume that the clintons will pull this off, one way or the other, they are the designated leaders of the multi-nationals.

As I read these blogs, I think half of you must be drunk.

First, I'm not in Nevada, so I can't comment on what went on there.

Second, Bill has repeatedly mischaracterized Obama's positions (= to Bush on the war, for instance). The Reagan thing was way out of context (if you don't think that was a CHANGE, your a dolt). And where do you think those Barack Hussein Obama calls came from?

And the Clintonian Hypocrisy rang out in various ways. First, Hillary bitches about people having to work on caucus day in Iowa, then Nevada tries to make arrangements so that working folk can work, and they bitch about it. Second, I don't see Bill or HRC whining about Superdelegates disenfranchising voters (that must be because they have more of them now). Last, she blows a twenty point lead, barely wins (if at all in terms of delegates), and its some kind of big victory. Give me a break. Though I'll admit it would have been bad for her had she lost.

Third. Obama won more delegates. Even it is 13-12 the other way, there are still even in elected delegates. And likely to be close to neck and neck coming out of S.C. after Obama wins. So much for inevitability.

Plus, I think the bad blood will lead to a long fight.

For my money, the idea that either one is a real change agent is highly dubious, they are both in between the forty yard lines.

If Hillary wins the Dem nomination, I will probably throw up in my mouth as I vote her.

Im tired of having to vote for the lesser of two evils. I wasn't all that excited about Gore, and same goes for Kerry. We need a populist with cross-over appeal. Not this hack Hillary.

Obama won the delegate count, Clinton won the caucuses. White women voted for Clinton because they want to see a woman as President. That is to be expected, although I do not agree with it. They are putting their collective ambitions above the good of the nation. It is not good to have two families trading the Presidency back and forth between themselves.

It seems Obama is going to scream fraud every time he loses...

This is a really unfortunate and somewhat irresponsible statement from the Obama campaign.

The logic apparently is if Obama wins it's due to his campaign's hard work and the good judgement of the Nevada voters.

If he loses... the entire process is "discredited".....and it's probably due to a bunch of dirty tricks....mostly by BILL Clinton!

I wish Sen. Obama would rein in or replace some of his spokespeople. Statements like this are not catastophic or evil.
They're just transparently dishonest, and thus at direct odds with his uplifting rhetoric about "hope" and "A new kind of politics"......
They also makes Obama's campaingn appear slightly desperate, very amaturish, and distinctly UNpresidential. This is real schoolyard stuff...."If we win it's because we're great......if YOU win it's because you CHEATED!!
It doesn't help and it's very unflattering to Sen. Obama himself. Regards.............................tm

I agree with the Obama camp that the process has been discredited not because I support him. Even if he had won, well he kind of did, I would still think the same.

Why? Because Bill Clinton the supposed stateman ran around town CALLING ANOTHER DEMOCRAT A CHEAT!!!

He was making so much noise that had Obama won, which was unlikely as she was ahead in the polls, it would have took all the air out of the victory. But since Hillary won, at least the popular vote, it is all of a sudden ok.

The WOLF was not only crying WOLF, he was calling the SHEEP a wolf as well. The Clintons are pathetic the sooner we get rid of them the sooner we can redefine ourselves as a unified party of civility and vision.

If Hillary were such a great candidate why isn't she WAY ahead of Barack Obama in the polls. I mean, she is a Clinton...LOL, she has the whole Clinton Machine behind her, "Big Daddy Clinton" is holding her hand and walking her through..'defending his lady' (guilt perhaps..LOL????)----all of that and she's still struggling to pull ahead. That says a lot! Even Hillary's supporters must know that. I'm sure many were holding their breath today...LOL. She thought this would be a cakewalk for her. She can't believe that Barack Obama is in her way!!!! HA! Well, she's going to have to fight tooth and nail. This will NOT be easy for her and I don't think she can pull it off. She has EVERY advantage and she still can't get rid of Obama. He has as much or more money than she does. He has great endorsements coming in each day! He's had a WORLDWIDE following! This is hilarious to me! She can't shake this guy! She's scared and so is Bill and everyone in her camp! Also, this man is not just getting the black vote either....their are many blacks not supporting him. White people are voting for him in huge numbers. This man offers hope to everyone of all races and he has supporters of all races. May the best Man win!

The problem with the Obama campaign is that they rely on the intelligence and courage of the electorate to guide their actions. Hope and self-education? Really? Sorry, but many Americans are stupid cowards. This is how Bush won reelection. The Clintons know this, which is why they have turned "parsing" into poetry and spook people with references to failed terrorist attacks in other countries.

When you have a large enough voter base, you can rely on one thing: your supporters will do anything they can to prove their initial choice as right -- doing the slightest amount of research would actually make them LOOK bad, so they are actually invested in ignorance.

This is an odd combination of vanity and traditionalism that expresses itself in various ways: nationalism, racism, bigotry, REPUBLICANISM. You never have to worry about being caught in a lie because most of the people who want to vote for you want to avoid DISCOVERING you are lying.

Americans have created this hostile political environment and it doesn't matter that they suffer under it. As long as they are willing to assume they know what's right and hope it magically gets better then the same crap will stick to the walls.

Seriously, if they let the politicians frame their opponent's positions FOR them instead of doing their own research, they'll blindly follow wherever they're pointed without a second thought.

Why are you voting for Hillary Clinton? Explain it to me. She's not a Liberal. She's not as experienced as Edwards OR Obama or Kucinich. Why Hillary Clinton?

Media message....... Obama says:
The reason is because tens of thousands of Nevadans came out to say that they're tired of business-as-usual in Washington and ready for a President who can bring this country together
Yet more people voted for Dr. Ron Paul than voted for Obama and Edwards combined.
Around 6000
Check your facts
