I'd guess he was ready to concede to McCain and just wanted to be timely. I think he has mixed feelings about running. He doesn't seem to have the motivation to really run hard. I doubt he'll stay in after Florida. He will pitch his troops to McCain, but whether the evangelicals and true southerners will go to McCain isn't a lock. I'd guess at least some if not at least 50% would go to Huckabee.

Perhaps the media needs to make candidates TELL them what they purpose of any speech is BEFORE allowing FREE AIR TIME?

FThompson is just a Southern Fried social conservative. Huckabee without the rough edges. Fred! is a regional candidate who has zero appeal outside of the Deep South. He couldn't even carry the Bible thumpers in Iowa. New Hampshire totally rejected Fred. South Carolina wants the snake handler Southern Baptist minister Reverend Huckabee over Fred.

But there is no escaping the reality that Fred! is just another Revival Tent Republican who doesn't play the tambourine. But he most certainly is one of them. Just another snake handling anti abortion, anti gay far right whacko in a good suit.
