Obama Slams Bill Clinton In Gma Interview

Sen. Barack Obama says he's ready to confront former President Bill Clinton, calling his advocacy on behalf of his wife's presidential campaign, "troubling."

In an exclusive interview with ABC News' Robin Roberts to air Monday on "Good Morning America," Obama, D-Ill., directly engages Bill Clinton on a series of issues.

"You know the former president, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for, has taken his advocacy on behalf of his wife to a level that I think is pretty troubling," Obama said. "He continues to make statements that are not supported by the facts -- whether it's about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq or our approach to organizing in Las Vegas. This has become a habit, and one of the things that we're gonna have to do is to directly confront Bill Clinton when he's making statements that are not factually accurate."

I guess Michelle's "ain't no blacks in Iowa" remark isn't troubling. First it's false. Second, there sure a lot of them there when Barack and Michelle were up on that stage with Oprah. Where'd they come from? Bussed in from Illinois? And where'd they go after that? And third, that's how corporate lawyers talk? Oh, I get it. She was "talking black". Like Hillary?

Good for Obama! It's time for Bill's "free ride" to end.

If a former President is willing to debase himself & his legacy to get his wife elected, he is absolutely fair game.

At this point, I'm sorry to say now that I voted for him twice...but won't that mistake with another Clinton again.

WAY TO GO!!!!!! Don't let that old windbag get that wagging finger to scare people off again. Reminds me of the old Bill Clinton days only now he's even older and even creepier. That finger first waved the "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinsky" lie. They really rely on the populous to be dumb. I want new blood and new talent.

Bill Clinton is a liar? Yes, an uncommonly good liar according to Senator Kerrey.

To put it charitably, Bill has been "stretching the truth" regarding Obama's record. This might work in the Democratic primaries. But if Hillary wins the nomination and Bill continues this strategy in the general election, it will immediately be used by the GOP to remind everyone of "I did not have relations with that woman", "I did not inhale", and various other lies/mistruths from the Clinton administration. It will backfire in a big way for the Clintons.

Yeah but Bill wears nicer ties, so we should vote for Hillary.

Pres. Clinton is squandering his credibility and his legacy with what he's doing. I guess he thinks it's worth it, but I find it pretty appalling.

It would be hard to call him First Gentleman. Never mind that he would change the concept of the Presidential Office.

So much for change. Sounds like familiar political tactics to me.

whether it's about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq

Obama had an approach.

You mean apart from agreeing to every request Bush made for money for his damned war?

Oh well.

Here we go.
