Obama Slams Bill Clinton In Gma Interview

Sen. Barack Obama says he's ready to confront former President Bill Clinton, calling his advocacy on behalf of his wife's presidential campaign, "troubling."

In an exclusive interview with ABC News' Robin Roberts to air Monday on "Good Morning America," Obama, D-Ill., directly engages Bill Clinton on a series of issues.

"You know the former president, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for, has taken his advocacy on behalf of his wife to a level that I think is pretty troubling," Obama said. "He continues to make statements that are not supported by the facts -- whether it's about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq or our approach to organizing in Las Vegas. This has become a habit, and one of the things that we're gonna have to do is to directly confront Bill Clinton when he's making statements that are not factually accurate."

Just imagine how proud and glowing Bill Clinton would be about Barack Obama - and eager to anoint him as heir - if Hillary had no presidential ambitions and were not in this race? As has been pointed before, Obama is in style and policy a Clinton Democrat - he has learned the lesson that Democrats must be sensitive to those 'hearts and minds' with a heartland conservative sensibility in order to succeed. And that Obama is black, and Clinton's legacy is to have made special appear to the concerns of African-Americans... In so many ways it really looks terrible on Bill's part to be attacking Obama out of what is so clearly based in nothing but what is strategically necessary for Hillary. Again, just imagine what a champion of Obama he would be if Hillary were not running.

Barack Obama is STILL not ready to be president! I do not believe he has the past exerperince and judgment to be president at this time. Selecting Supreme Court justices is one of the most important job for the next President. I have sincere doubts about Obama, knowing now what we know about his Reagan worship and his muliple 'present votes' on pro choice ammendments as a legislator. He seems to pander and the Kumbaya rhetoric is somewhat juvenile and idealistic to say the least. Americans need the most qualified person - not most qualified black man, not most qualified white woman - to step into the most difficult job in the world and begin to fix this mess on day one. Hillary Clinton is the ONLY presidential candidate for the job. She has a clear record on woman's and civil rights, and is the most knowledgable on policy, both domestic and international. Surely John McCain's hundred years war is not what we need, nor Barack Obama's inexperience, 'present' votes and downright arrogance, where he shows contempt for the Democratic partys' struggles and accomplishments over the last 3 decades. This arrogance along with his short resume are reminiscient of GWB. Let's not make the same mistake 3 times in a row... It's about the experience stupid!

Political dynasties have no place in US Politics (including the Bushes and the Clintons) and the stronger the dynasty the more corruption.

Hillary needs to get off the national stage. She can have a wonderful career as a NY Senator.........a state she has lived in for, oh, about 8 years now.

I have always felt, mistakenly perhaps, that ex-Presidents belong to all of America, regardless of their Party affiliation.

I think it was unwise for Bill Clinton to get involved in day-to-day campaigning. Sinse he has, Obama is under no obligation to be deferential to this ex-President.

I have always (in the past) enjoyed the Huffington Report until the race for the president. I thought it fair, independent and wide open. Wrong! Is there any anti-Obama story that sits at the top of the story list? Always down where almost not read. While any--any anti Clinton story takes top billing. Shame. I realize this is a blog page--wide open and somehow fair. I realize, now, old age is not excuse for studipity.

How is he slamming Clinton? Barack Obama is a great candidate he just needs to regroup. Playing the race card has backfire on him somewhat.

Some democrats have had it with Bill and have called him and told him to stop attacking Obama. This is not how a former president should be behaving. I don't care if he does want a third term. This is going to backfire on the Clintons big time. If she is the nominee, I will not vote for her. I will vote for Bloomberg.

I have harbored resentment toward Bill Clinton since 2000. I think he did a good job as President, but what I resent is that he never apologized to the people he betrayed with his personal behavior and last minute pardons that were questionable and politically problematic. The right wingers complain about his behavior, but he gave them just what they wanted - a blinding issue and cost Gore the election. Frankly, he put issues that I care about at risk for a few blowjobs. He has never, in my mind, publicly acknowledged the damage he did to progresive causes with his personal behavior - while fully aware the right wing were after an issue. He seemed to think he was Ferris Bueller, and could get away with lots of minor stuff because he was a really good guy with a good heart. His "day off" cost this nation dearly by giving Bush, Cheney, and Company just what they needed. He should let Hillary do her own dirty work.

Lets face it Bill The Creep Clinton is supposed to be one of the "elders" leaders of our party in addition to Carter our other leaving ex-President. He should have shown more decorum...it is not as if he is in need of thet Presidential salary. ANd more...if he really si such a Black President...he should support a very competitive and attractive candidate that appeals to all races...
