Former President Clinton stands to reap around $20 million -- and will sever a politically sensitive partnership tie to Dubai -- by ending his high-profile business relationship with the investment firm of billionaire friend Ron Burkle.

Mr. Clinton is negotiating to end his relationship with Mr. Burkle's Yucaipa Cos. as part of a broader effort to protect the presidential campaign of his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, from potential conflicts of interest. Details of Mr. Clinton's involvement in Yucaipa and his efforts to unwind it come from documents and interviews with people familiar with the matter.

Remember the last debates. Republican candidate Thompson took on Romney, Huckabee took on McCain and Oh Yeah, the Democrats debated too, they were civil to each other.
The MSM gave Republicans hours of free publicity.

The Democratic Party then said, "You have to disagree on things or the voters will forget your names and vote Republican. Get Bill involved, he's good at this.

Remember a year ago when John McCain was the Republican frontrunner and Hillary Clinton was "inevitable"?

The media moguls told their "talking heads", "Get out there and bring down the frontrunners or you won't have anything to talk about." "We will have layoffs and you guys will have to get real jobs using something besides your mouths."

They kept their jobs and we heard a lot of bashing and B.S.. One year later, things are basically right back where we started.

"WHY is Bill Clinton courting such intense publicity, in evitably much of it negative?
Is he crazy? Crazy like a fox.


He has two goals and is achieving them both spectacularly.
First, he wants to be the same kind of lightning rod for Hillary that she was for him during his run for the presidency.

Now, she rarely gets hit anymore. They're hitting Bill instead.

The other method behind his madness is that Bill wants to suck up all the oxygen in the room and dominate the coverage of the Democratic contest. By doing so, he cuts Obama out of the news, pushes him off the front page, and usurps the headlines.

His tactics now are reminiscent of those he used to black out John Kerry during the lead-up to the 2004 Democratic National Convention.


Ultimately, the Clintons are playing a game of jujitsu with Obama, using his own strength against him.

By challenging Obama for the black vote - by promising to go door to door in South Carolina in minority neighborhoods, for example - Bill is highlighting the question: Will Obama carry the black vote? Of course, he will. He leads, 4 to 1, among African-Americans now.

But by making that the central question, Obama's South Carolina victory will be hailed as proof that he won the African-American vote. Such block voting will trigger the white backlash Sen. Clinton needs to win.

Once whites see blacks voting en masse for a black man, they will figure that it is a racial game and line up for Hillary. Already, she carries white voters by 2 to 1.

It's fairly well known that Burkle's main role in Bill Clinton's life is to steer large sums of cash into the Clinton bank account, and steer young, impressionable playthings into Bill's orbit, well-out of sight of the media (Burkle's private jet is rumored to be basically a flying brothel).

In return, Burkle, who is obsessed with celebrity, gets to hang out with Bill Clinton.

I don't see how anyone posting here can claim obama has millions of dollars in any account other than the one to run for office. Yes Edwards has money and has made it by working. Clinton's have much more money as bill has done the deals along the way as well as money beyond compare for his speechs and travels. He has done little for free unlike edwards has and obama has worked for the little guys as well as edwards did his begining fighting againest insurance denying the common person what they should have given them in care and monies. Do not get rich pro bono as he did much then. Hillary got tons of money on the wal mart board as well as bill on his various appointments. Obama isn't well off but he and his wife do well for themselves.

George W. Bush rented his Daddy's name to a losing Texas baseball club owned by Texas Republican contributers. He used money from other Republican contributers who bailed out his failed oil company, to buy a 6% stake in that ball team. The real owners sold the team and George W. Bush pocketed $13 million dollars, thus becoming successful in at least one business venture in his life.

He later BECAME President of the United States.

Bill Clinton took advantage of an investment under the rules enacted by Republican policies to aid their rich friends, to pay legal bills incurred by fighting these same Republicans in a witch-hunt against him and his wife.
