Obama Truth Squad

MSNBC News:

The Obama campaign held a conference call to announce the South Carolina Truth Squad "to respond forcefully" to "the incredible distortions that are coming from the Clinton campaign in particular and our desire to set the record straight," said former Sen. Tom Daschle, an Obama supporter, from Greenville, S.C., where Obama is expected to speak at Furman College later today.

Daschle cited that "Bill Clinton this morning again" was distorting Obama's record on the war and what Obama had said about Republicans. "Over and over again," Daschle said, "we find the Clinton campaign has made an overt effort to distort his [Obama's] record."

If anyone is interested in some follow-up after Monday's South Carolina Democratic debate, the above link to a November 5, 2006 article on the Chicago Sun Times web site - titled "Obama on Rezko deal: It was a mistake" - is pretty revealing. The reporters' second direct question to Barama asks him whether he or his wife ever did any legal work for Antoin "Tony" Rezko, a Chicago slumlord with whom Barama did a sweetheart real estate deal that resulted in a $1.65 million Georgian revival mansion for the junior senator from Illinois. Barama answered "no" at the time, but didn't he actually confirm that he had billed Rezko for five hours of his professional time during Monday's debate? Maybe Barama's South Carolina "Truth Squad" will clear up the discrepancy, but then again....

I only hope this "truth squad" is bi-partisan.

An equal number of Republicans and Democrats deciding what are lies. We don't want devisive politics anymore and that is how Senator Obama will run his Administration.

He could extend his hand across the aisle and select some of the Obstructionists who sustained Bush's veto of the SCHIP Program if they didn't bite his hand off first.

The only way to get a stubborn mule's attention is with a 2X4 and I don't think Obama has one, only hope!!!!

Appeal to his image as the victim.

Now, that's a real leader!

The Clintons have no ability to feel shame. That was proved 10 years ago and it is clear today. Win at all cost, tear people down the get in your way. Lie, cheat, steal.

For the greater good? What greater good does Hillary Clinton have to offer. She's going to bomb Iran? Hand me health care? Unite the country? Hillary has said so many things, most of them are in alignment with Bush. She has supported Bush in lock step.

The Clintons 'legacy' was unraveled in a matter of minutes. Gore lost to Bush in the shadow of immorality and lying, Nafta agreements were pushed through without a thought to the working class, the Democratic Party was left in the mud, left to deal with dirt the Clintons left behind. Do not forget. The republicans haven't. They will not be as mannered as Obama about their 'legacy'.

This is the simple truth. The legacy of the Clintons is one of dirty politics, immorality, division, broken promises, secrets, lies and destruction to this nation and specifically working people. She has run her campaign the same way, she will run the country the same way.

Obama has come up against these two political monsters. I hope he can look into the belly of the beast and prevail. His direction is better for us as people and the nation as a whole. He will unite the nation to a common purpose.

This is an important election, one that will lead us to the 21st century or backwards. Don't go back. Move forward. Its time.

Obama wouldn't know the truth if he stepped in it.

What are you going to do when Edwards joins Hillarys team? It should be soon before Super Tuesday.

Good for Obama. Go fight the Clintons' whose clinging to power is the most pathetic thing anyone has ever seen. It's time to turn the page; I know the Hillary and Clintonites have a hard time accepting that, but Hillary would be the easiest to beat in the general election. And frankly, she is too deep into Mark Penn and the likes of Mark Penns to ever think about the interest of anyone other than the insurance companies and other multinational corporations.

If you don't know about Mark Penn, read more about him! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sam-sedaei/the-clintons-the-high-pr_b_77298.html

Hillary and Bill know the Republicans so well. They know the Rove play book. No DEM has ever won since Reagan when the Republicans make it sound like were weak on protecting America. That is why President Clinton won. He took all the incoming fire from REP and came out the winner. He broke the gride lock of 12 years of tryant rule by the Republicans.

Reagan was a master at it. He was so hateful to the DEMS. Insulting us at every turn.
And this coming from the man who took credit for getting the hostages out of Iran when he did LESS THAN NOTHING. Carter and his staff worked for months on a deal to get the hostages out. Iran finally agreed to the terms they backed out on the date set to release the hostages. They wanted to embarrass America in the eyes of the world and release the hostages the moment Carter left office. And Reagan actually took the credit for releasing the hostages when he had LESS THAN NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. With a piece of work. And that set the stage for the kind of president he was and the kind of man he was. Taking credit for something he never did. Sounds like a Republican to me.

Yeah....I got my first email from John Kerry letting me know he's supporting B. O. and about the new "truth squad." He refers to swiftboating....HAH!

Oh John, sorry naive John...wouldn't stand up to the Republicans in 2004, but now, turning your back on Edwards and the party....sheesh!

BILL'S OBAMA STRATEGY

It takes an attack dog to know an attack dog...Bill Clinton's ex-buddy Dick Morris' take on Bill's Obama Strategy below...point by point

"WHY is Bill Clinton courting such intense publicity, in evitably much of it negative?
Is he crazy? Crazy like a fox.

He has two goals and is achieving them both spectacularly.
First, he wants to be the same kind of lightning rod for Hillary that she was for him during his run for the presidency.

Now, she rarely gets hit anymore. They're hitting Bill instead.

The other method behind his madness is that Bill wants to suck up all the oxygen in the room and dominate the coverage of the Democratic contest. By doing so, he cuts Obama out of the news, pushes him off the front page, and usurps the headlines.

His tactics now are reminiscent of those he used to black out John Kerry during the lead-up to the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

Ultimately, the Clintons are playing a game of jujitsu with Obama, using his own strength against him.

By challenging Obama for the black vote - by promising to go door to door in South Carolina in minority neighborhoods, for example - Bill is highlighting the question: Will Obama carry the black vote? Of course, he will. He leads, 4 to 1, among African-Americans now.

But by making that the central question, Obama's South Carolina victory will be hailed as proof that he won the African-American vote. Such block voting will trigger the white backlash Sen. Clinton needs to win.

Once whites see blacks voting en masse for a black man, they will figure that it is a racial game and line up for Hillary. Already, she carries white voters by 2 to 1.

People from Bidens camp and Richardson camp within the last week have already joined Hillarys camp. Senator Clinton is very smart and I am sure she is talking to Edwards about a vp slot if he gets out of the race. So, so very smart. She has never lost against a Republican. And 100 years in Iraq Mc Cain will be no different. Hillary is going to be the next president of the United States.
