UPI:

A Gallup Poll released Tuesday found a lack of desire among U.S. voters for a third-party presidential candidate.

"The American public does not appear to believe it is important or necessary for an independent candidate outside of the traditional two major parties to step into the race in order to save the nation," Gallup said.

Just ran across this Penn & Teller clip on polling and pollsters. Quite enlightening.

Gallup lost my confidence when they became so biased about Bush.
Gallup has no crediabliy!
That said,I think there is a hunger by Republicans for a third party, for the simple reason that thier candidates suck. The Democrats are far happier with thier choices and wont look to a third party, but Republicans will.
But I think a third party would take the Indi. vote from Obama in the general, but it would really split the Republican vote.

I think their polls are rigged, 2,000 people surveyed, and that reflects the views or opinions of 306,000,000 people? Try again, get back out there, and earn that paycheck...Gallup forth!

LOL
What a joke...what a joke...

Americans go with the conventional wisdom as served them by the MSM, it is so much less painful than thinking.

Apologies to J.K. Galbraith

They are not looking for a gay candidate. I think they want an independent candidate.

This poll is a sad reflection on the peoples' understanding of recent politics. The disastrous results of letting corporations determine the candidates has resulted in the most unqualified President our country has ever known running amok. We should have twenty parties so that cocaine and alcohol sotted candidates like Bush can be eliminated at conception.

Good. Stay home Bloomberg, Nader, and McKinney. Ron Paul or Huckleberry, please run 3rd party.

Now that McCain is in front he will become the choice of independents assuming the Clintons are his opponents. Mrs. Clinton will never get independent votes and will be strictly limited to what is left of the democratic party once her and her husband have had their way with it.

Pollsters, like Accountants, are visible at an early age. Just ask every kid in a kindergarten class, "what's two plus two?"

The future pollster will reply, "what do you want it to be?"
