Jon Stewart Bill Clinton

Last night on "A Daily Show," Jon Stewart mocked the coverage of the Nevada caucus and the media's reliance on overused gambling terminology ("You have to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em," for instance). He also debunked Bill Clinton's claim of dirty campaign tactics.

Does anyone remember bill pointing the finger and lying to the whole country? I don't care if he had sex on the white house lawn in front of the photogs. But to lie about it says he/she will lie another day.

John Stewart doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground, just another Obama kiss ass.

The Clintons wouldn't know the truth if it hit them in the face. Will do or say anything to win. Shame on the Clintons for the way they are sleazing and sliming Senator Obama. They will not win with these tactics.

This has to be some kind of joke, right! Let me get this straight, Clinton, his daughter, a secret service team, and the trailing news media reporters were all walking through a noisy casino and Clinton overheard, on the cuff, a union rep tell a union member that little story? You've got to be kidding!
That had to be a shill, a created moment or it didn't happen! I can't imagine any union boss talking like that ~ especially in that situation!

The Clintons are THUGS. If they win the nomination, the Democrats will go down to flaming defeat again and may lose the HOuse and Senate as well. Obama is our only chance of saving the Democratic Party from going the way of the Whigs.

I guess john should have done some homework before suggesting Bills comments were lies. The Las Vegas Sun also confirmed the intimidation from the cullinary union.

Dan Abrams got it right.

Facts that support Clinton = 2

Facts that support Obama = 1

Unsure = 1

Sounds like Obama's whining up at least 2 trees.

Just Bill demonstrating his remarkable ability to disgrace the office of the President long after his term ended.

Jon Stewart suggested Bill Clinton was lying because Bill Clinton most likely was. The whole story sounded like bullsh-t from the start, Bill was making incriminating but nebulous allegations based on what could most charitably be described as hearsay, and more accurately, likely, bullsh-t.

Bill Clinton was disbarred for lying under oath, so lying in a dirty political fight?

Those that don't see this for what it is are smoking the same stuff Bill says he never inhailed.

He did NOT debunk the claim. All he could do was express an opinion. He wasn't there and there is no recording of the incident (so far).

One of the few times that John got it wrong.

By the way, here's a scenario. When he said, "I heard," maybe some workers came up to him and told him. In fact, in other clips I've seen, that's exactly what he said happened. Then he wouldn't have to "overhear" anything, would he.

Amazing how far that totally impossible Broadderick story has gone. Nobody knows the background? Anybody know that she said it happened in a hotel that hadn't been built when she says it happened?

Democrats, please remember: she CANNOT win the general. Keep your eye on the 11/08 ball before its too late. She will rally the Republicans like nobody else and Jon McCain will be our next President. She cannot win the general. Do something about it before its too late...remind every Democrat you know: a vote for Hillary is a vote for McCain.

Let me try to defend both Bill Clinton and Jon Stewart.
Yes, Stewart is right that it would be hard to "overhear" a statement made by one person to another in the middle of the games in a casino.
However, he didn't take into account two elements:

1. If someone was to yell something load enough for A NUMBER of people to hear a threat it is completely possible that someone other than the people the comment was directed at could have also overheard it.
2. The caucuses to place in areas where there wasn't the din of slot machines, as Stewart suggests.
THESE ARE MULTPURPOSE HOTELS. If there were no quieter place there could be no conventions, no singers or comedians performing, and no one being able to sleep.

Stewart didn't deliberately get this wrong. He was making something known as a JOKE.
