Obama Kerry Swiftboating

Boston Globe's Political Intelligence:

Senator John F. Kerry of Massachusetts, who endorsed Barack Obama earlier this month, is now coming to Obama's aid to rebut what he calls "disgusting lies" that Obama is a secret Muslim and refuses to observe the Pledge of Allegiance.

In an e-mail to Obama supporters today, Kerry reminds them of what happened to him in 2004 when a group called Swift Boat Veterans for Truth challenged his Vietnam War record.

Barack Obama, an equal opportunity candidate.

It's obvious that Obama is not white enough and certainly not black enough. He presents himself however as an equal opportunity candidate and the beacon of hope for a united America.

There's a piece of him for the white color conscious voter and a piece of him for the black color conscious voter. Then there’s the whole of him for the color blind rational voter. It would be nice if race was not a factor, but let's not kid ourselves; race is alive and well and the Clintons are exploiting it.

For the first time, African-Americans are presented with a candidate who shares their heritage and who also has a legitimate chance to be nominated and eventually elected president of the United States.

Obama is specially gifted and when contrasted head to head with Hillary, he is far superior both in judgment, character, temperament and intellectual prowess. He also has sufficient relevant experience and vision to make good decisions where Hillary has been opportunistic and has failed on critical issues of national significance.

It appears that Blacks are split and indecisive about their choice between Obama and Hillary. The tag teams of Bill and Hillary Clinton have mounted a serious negative campaign to diminish the stature of Obama. They have introduced the race and gender cards in an effort to bait and destroy him. They seem to be succeeding.

Blacks should not allow themselves to be manipulated by the Clintons. They should free themselves from mental slavery and exercise wisdom by giving Obama victory. They should reject any so called Black leaders who may try to persuade them from doing the right thing.

By voting for Obama, Blacks can help the nation by defeating the Clinton machine who if allowed back in the white house will engage this country in an endless internal strife. It’s time for a positive change and this is the time for Blacks to make a statement

I question whether Kerry hurts Obama more than helps him.

However, when is Obama going to quit playing the victim and begin to fight for the American people?

Americans are faced with finacial ruin because of Bush. 40% of Americans are too poor to pay taxes and thus will be left out of Bush's stimulus package. Of the remaining 60% of the "middle class" half or 30% make less than $50,000 a year. Everyone, including the working poor faces increased prices of every thing due to the raising of the price of oil and devaluation of the dollar. Jobs are being threatened and so are some people's homes.

Sick of Obama and his "slights" and "indignations" over what he thinks others are doing to him.

When Obama stands up and fights for the rights of the 92% of Americans who get a W-2 every year, then we will respect him.

Edwards and Clinton have the message right and both are fighters who have learned to deal with insults. Both of them are addressing the needs of the 40% of Americans who as John Edwards say, lives in poverty. That is almost half of America living in poverty. We need a reality check. With this upcoming recession, the number of people living in poverty will increase and it could be any of us. This is making John Edwards look pretty good right now.

Obama, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Clinton or Edwards 08

1. Clinton and Obama BOTH backed Lamont. Exactly!

2. Morris vs Rezko? Do you take umbrage with the quality of the slime? BHO's response regarding his Rezko dealings was lame. I suggest you read a couple of the Chicago Suntimes articles. View the PDF document that Obama wrote on behalf of Rezko.

Its a pay to play process. The three best persons are out of the running, two of the remaining four can't get media play. None of the contenders can match Richardson's resume. If you believe otherwise, what are you are drinking?

Obama backed Lieberman over the PEOPLE'S choice " Lamont."
You are either extremely stupid or extremely disingenous, and in which case you humiliate yourself and everyone one here. You fail to mention that Hillary and Bill also supported Lieberman, with Bill actually campaigning for him!
"he used Rezko (more than a decade) the slum lord for personal and political gains."
Again either extremely stupid or disingenous " Obama explained his "dealings" with Rezko at the SC debate. And if you are going to attack Obama for associating with a slime ball than mabye you ought to take a look at Hillary"s top strategist, Mark Penn! Or how about going a little further back and take a look at Bill"s top strategist for over a decade, Dick Morris!

The three best experienced persons are out of the running. The other remaning two can't get media play.

Clinton and Obama BOTH backed Lamont. Exactly!

Do you take humbrage with the quality of the slime you honest intellectual giant?

Kerry shot himself in the foot to get out of Vietnam and now he wants Obama to shoot himself in the foot to get out of Iraq.

I heard a couple of interesting things today. First, this morning a caller from Nevada on Stephanie Miller's show claimed that he heard many Clinton supporters shouting OBAMA, OSAMA outside a caucus location. We only have this guy's word for it, but if this happened, these people need to be REALLY ashamed of themselves. Our party DOESN'T do this.

Later, a caller from Georgia on Ed Schultz' show said he was a Republican, has voted for GWB twice, but just sent in his absentee ballot for Barack. And, he actually said, "Barack." He said he's voting this way because the country needs to change directions and find a new path.

I think the tide is beginning to change. I think people want to leave the kind of BS we're seeing right now behind.

Oh, and if you're a Democrat and you've ever said something like what the Nevada caller spoke of or you've ever originated or passed on that ridiculous and bogus email that's floating around lying about Barack, you need to be ashamed of yourself. REALLY ashamed of yourself.

Let me make something perfectly clear, Hillary Clinton will be the death of the Democratic Party and thus the Republic. She will be electoral poison all the way down the ticket, every Democrat across this country will be forced to run away from her and every republican will be emboldened and energized like never before.
She is, whether you like it or not, the most polarizing figure in American politics today. Even if she were to somehow scrap together a 45% - 47% victory next November she will be completely unable to govern. Not ONE republican will touch a piece of legislation with her name on it, and every Democrat will be terrified of being labeled a HillaryCrat and will be forced to distance themselves from her as mush as possible. We will lose the congress in 2010 and by 2012 her approval ratings will probably be hovering somewhere in the mid 20's, making her easy picking for Jeb Bush who will crush her in a electoral landslide - and thus the cycle continues....

Regardless that Lamont backs Obama - Obama backed Lieberman over the PEOPLE'S choice - Lamont. Obama used Lieberman as much as he used Rezko (more than a decade) the slum lord for personal and political gains. The Rezko matter is more than simply a matter of bad choice. Read the WHOLE Chicago Sun Times article. He may not have done anything illegal but he knew how to use corrupt people - Chicago style.

He did NOT speak to Biden's remarks until the debates. He permitted the perpetuation that Biden's remarks were racist "code" words. Anything negative said about BHO can be construed as racist. Name any within the Democratic Party now serving that are now racists! I am so fVcking sick of this racist bullsh*t.

BTW. Where is Al Sharpton and his boys? I don't see them standing out in front of Duke University apologizing to the 3 white boys they so hastily judged.

Most Dems don't want to hear this stuff. Kerry doesn't make much difference these days outside of the Senate. Bill Clinton should only speak occasionaly and maintain his dignity (instead of losing it, or at least having his image diminished). In retrospect, I believe Biden would have stood a better chance in '04. My vote did go to Senator Kerry and V.P.Gore in '00! I'd vote for any of the 3 top Dems. I don't like this bickering and BS!

My two cents......with a couple of practical tips for Huffposters.

I recieved my "stop the swiftboating"..E-mail from Sen.Kerry today.

1:)For the record.....I read it very carefully (twice)....it it he refers to "anonymous" attacks via E-mail on Sen. Obama. NOWHERE does he claim or even imply that these E-mails were sent or funded by or in any tangible way ENCOURAGED by the Clinton campaign. He never mentions Clinton AT ALL.
So, when he is accused of that (as he certainly will be) I'm telling you IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. point for Obama/Kerry

2:)Over the course of the last year-and-a half or so...I've subscribed to the campaign newsletters of ALL the Democratic candidates as well as a couple sites each for Sen.s Clinton and Obama, as well as move on.org, Air America, lots of political stuff..even Ann Coulter's and Bob Novak's weekly newsletters (Imagine!)

For the record....I have NEVER recieved an E-Mail containing these much ballyhooed attacks on Obama (muslim/drug use etc.) from any source....NOT ONE. Sen. Clinton's stuff is invariably positive, upbeat and her criticisms are reserved for the Bush administration and Republicans generally.
So...when she is acused of orchestrating these attacks (as she certainly will be) I'm here to tell you IT DIDN'T HAPPEN! ...point for Clinton

Quick tips....I kick in a little $ each cycle to candidates and causes I like....I'm talkin' muy pequeno amounts here that almost anyone can afford. It's fun... try it!

1:) Send any contribution via snail mail/money order or you will be BURIED in solicitations from every organization under the sun!

2:) If you're feeling nasty and REALLY don't like someone... send a check for five dollars and request a reciept. I'm told that reciept or not, it will cost that campaign approx. $7 to process and record such a contribution.

Question did these attacks on Sen. Obama even actually happen at all?... Would love to hear from anyone who has ACTUALLY RECIEVED such an E-mail. Regards..........................................tm

There's one All American Champion liar in the White House right now!

If Americans are so dumb as to replace him with two more deceitful practised liars, they'll get the Presidents they deserve!

The smears about Obama's purported religion -- generating a situation a little like that on Seinfeld, in the episode where homosexuality comes up and characters deny being gay ('not that there's anything wrong with that') are not the only or main issue to the extent that the Swiftboating, which had the open backing of a lot of the supervisory military hierarchy over Kerry. One should note, for example, one issue that to my knowledge hasn't even made a noticeable appearance in the MSM: Obama's benefitting from a performance-and-mcing by Donnie McClurkin, an antigay gospel singer.

Another canard, which DID come up in the debates, is the distorted picture given of Obama's frank recognition of the strategic political success of Reaganism in building a majority coalition, and in the GOP being guided not merely piecemeal and reactively -- like the way the DLC Democrats distinguish themselves from the GOP, but by an overall IDEA (conservatism). Obama indeed said that the GOP may have been the party of ideas, but NOT that these ideas "were good ones".

The list of distortions coming from HRC, her husband prez Bill, and from her campaign and supporters is legion. Obama addressed them gracefully in the Myrtle Beach debate, but needs to address many of these charges in more detail, in combination with perhaps a TV appearance on one of the talk shows TO TALK ABOUT the simultaneously released press releases -- in my arrogant opinion (imao).

But the overall thrust of what Kerry says is right -- you can't beat Hillary by trying to stay "above the fray". And yes, it's obvious that even though Obama projects a sense of dignity and probity in his responses, he and supporters DO need to be aggressive -- including sufficiently aggressive to generation complaining. If there are no complaints, it isn't aggressive enough.

I guess that most lies of Barack Obama being muslim can be traced back to various right wing networks, home pages and political blogs, a vast number of "hearts of darkness". This morning I made a search on the coverage on the three Democratic presidential candidates campaigns in minor dailies political blogs, particularly in SC dailies. Many local dailies are having political blogs, and in SC many of the bloggers are obvious Republican voters having quite intense discussions on Obama his "muslim roots". There is of course also some discussions about Hillary Clinton referring to the well-known stories and some - less malicious, just sexist - discussions on John Edwards (can an "eye-candy" become president!). But the stuff of Barack Obama is really nasty and often filled with links to even nastier pages, e.g. a page called "freedom's enemies" including a very detailed listing of Obama's and his parents' biographies
including large excerpts of his "Dreams of my Father" but also based on many other sources, in particular articles from newspapers, and stressing contradictions, mistakes, etc. There is of course also much about the Rezko story, but whats is really terrifying is a distinct racist stint targeted towards against Africans, multiculturalism and "the new elites", i.e. obviously aiming to alienate Barack Obama from "ordinary African-Americans".

..all this from a man whose license to practice law was taken away from him for LYING under oath. Bill Clinton cannot be trusted to tell the truth. Oh the days of "the vast right-winged conspiracy" might soon be upon us once again.
