Unwilling to take accountability for the last seven years of mismanagement over the nation's economy, conservatives are eager to portray the current economic downturn as a momentary hiccup and a temporary drag:

John McCain: "I still believe our fundamental underpinnings of our economy are strong."

What the fuck does this old-fart know about the economy? He's so old he thinks we're still trading in beaver pelts and Indian beads.

.

Some people question how I can believe that ANY of the Democrats, yes, including Hillary, can beat any of the republicans running, including McCain, in the general election.

And the McCain just opens his mouth, and my answer comes out.

He'll be the R nominee, and he'll sink himself with the weight of his own nonsense.

Unfortuately, the economy is going to get much worse and he'll remain in denial.

John Mccain REALLY is SENILE.

He brings up the economy 22 years later and doesn't mention how he helped to LITERALLY FUCK
many senior citizens out of their savings in Phoenix Arizona and along with then Govenor Fife Stymington made Phoenix an economic ghost time. He would do much worse if he was given more power. He shouldn't even be running for president. The Phoenix locals can't stand him!

Great job keeping big money out of elections McCain. Maybe you can trash another Constitutional Amendment when you get some free time.

I'm glad to see that Think Progress included the most important McCain quote: "The issue of economics is not something I"ve understood as well as I should."

Yep! And the Corps of Engineers said the levy's were just fine.

Go away, John. You've been a pathetic figure ever since you let Cheney and Rove hump your ass.

Snort. Will this man EVER remove his lips from Dumbya's exposed derriere? Strong underpinnings? Like massive, Republican-style budget deficits? Monster-size trade deficits? Stagnant middle class incomes? A woosie man's dollar? Health care costs shooting through the roof? Inflation rearing its ugly head? McCain's economic analytical skills are as lame as his strategic ones. Both are based on wishful thinking.

John McCain: "I still believe our fundamental underpinnings of our economy are strong."

To our benefit, you just keep opening your trap. I'll be quoting you AGAIN in another six months.
