James Carville And Paul Begala

Talking Points Memo:

Okay, this is interesting. I've just learned that CNN has told top Dem strategists James Carville, Paul Begala, and Robert Zimmerman -- who are CNN mainstays but are all Hillary supporters -- that they will not be doing any more political analysis on the network until the Democratic primary has reached a conclusion.

I'm also told that this move came after the Obama campaign repeatedly complained to high level officials at CNN about the presence of Carville and Begala on the network.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But when a news organization sees a conflict in their bias within their own ranks they should have a choice to remedy (which is their story - who you going to believe? You can either decide that it was an Obama directed decision or you can decide that the CNN execs decided it was a little unbalanced as it was ...).

Remember that CNN's slogan is 'Fair and balanced'.

I wish Fox had the same internal checks and balances on their organization...

Most of the responses to this thread are examples of the problem most idiot posters around here have...you either only read the title or the title and the first three sentences. See below for direct comments from the person in charge at CNN instead of the words of a biased blogger that you take as fact because he thinks that's what must have happened with his use of worlds like "appears", "may have", etc. which are the first red flags that something is amiss. Readers really should try to apply a modicum of critical thinking and take the words from the horses mouth (CNN rep) over what another idiot like yourself ASSumes must be the truth.

[Quote from full text of the blog post: ------------- Carville and Begala's presence on CNN has led to criticism for the network in the past. A few months ago the liberal blogosphere roundly condemned CNN for presenting them as neutral observers without identifying them clearly and frequently as Hillary supporters. In response to the criticism, CNN started identifying them as Hillary backers. It APPEARS that the Obama campaign MAY HAVE kept up its criticism of their appearances, however. Asked about the Obama camp's protest, Feist said: "We get advice from all the major campaigns about who should or should not be on CNN. If we listened to all of their advice, then there would be very few commentators left to put on television."]

CNN, they should give Geffery Tubein more into the front as the analyst, and get rid of Bill Bennett.
Speaking of lopsided news, CNN is okay, MSNBC, if not for Keith and Dan it is as bad as FOX !
Give more time to Rachael .

So, is CNN going to pull Donna Brazile, who is openly bashing Hillary & touting Obama??? Turn around is fair play, CNN.

What a misleading title!! When you read the article Obama had very little (if at all) to do with this... Gosh, are you bloggers that desparate to be read?

Now I know why Lou Dobbs has it in for Barack Obama. Robert Zimmerman is one of his political commentators. That and the immigration thing. It's a hunch anyway.

Obama's campaign is right on this one. The public should protest most of the so-called experts they have on CNN. Many of them have something to gain or lose regarding the topic they're "analyzing." God forbid they should have academics offering analysis. Not enough conflict. The world might become a better place, and then who'd watch?

Four years of Obama should bring about just enough devisiveness to finish off what Bush left.

Are these candidates the best this country can do ? If so, we should prepare funeral plans for this country because none of them put Americans first. None. Holding open the border doors proves that without even having to think about it. Everything they say after that is just drivel.

GOOD!

James Carville makes me ashamed to be a Democrat. This is a guy who (with his business partners) hired himself out as a political consultant in a South American presidential election, where his dirty tricks escalated a civil dispute that ended in bloodshed. And he has the NERVE to go on American TV and keep spouting his political views.

Democrats who live for the dollar and take no responsibility for their mistakes damage the party and the United States. Clinton and the Carvilles are so close to being Republican, they ought to be thrown out of the Democratic Party. These people are enemies of Democratic ideals.

Carville looks like he could easily be written into a horror flick and wouldn't even need any makeup. I don't belittle his looks or make jokes..... just how it seems to me. We live with what we were born with.
