Regan Ad Sc Gone

Washington Post's The Trail:

Under fire for airing misleading attacks on Sen. Barack Obama, the Clinton campaign has pulled a radio ad that quoted the Illinois senator calling Republicans "the party of ideas" and suggesting he thought those ideas superior to Democratic ones. But the Obama campaign has already counter-punched, launching a new radio spot saying Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will "say anything" to get elected.

The Clinton campaign did not immediately explain why it had pulled its radio spot, which had triggered a furious response from the Obama campaign and touched off a wave of criticism from Democrats who said the Clinton campaign has grown excessively aggressive in recent days. The Obama ad was no less fierce. It reminded voters that Clinton had voted to authorize the war in Iraq, saying she "voted for George Bush's war," and accused her of making "false attacks" on Obama.

That's exactly damn well what he did suggest! He sniped at Bill Clinton (comparing him to Nixon) while praising Reagan's ability to get things done.

Any objective assessment of these presidencies might want to take into account the things that actually did or did not get done during them. Clinton's presidency was better for the country in practically every way.

So what exactly was Obama saying? It's more important to be popular than to actually do good for the country?

Clinton had every right to call him out on his obnoxious remark. It proves he doesn't care about running the country; he just cares about looking the part. Like Ronnie Reagan.

They pulled that ad but replaced it with one of Bill begging African Americans to support Hillary because when he was president he "was so good to his colored folk!"

What we know about Republicans is they do not vote "FOR" issues or leaders, they won't "AGAINST" whatever they are told to fear at the moment. With this insight, Dems need to vote strategically. All of the Republican candidates have major flaws, including and especially McCain. None of them appeal to all the factions of the conservative voter. McCain has problems with the neocons who want the US to be Jack Bauer in 24 and torture, he has problems with the bigots- amnesty for illegal immigrants, anyone? And Wall Street? He is against Bush's tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans.

So, in order for him (or any Republican) to win, the Dems need to have a candidate they can promote as something to fear far worse than the differences they have with the Republican nominee.

Unfortunately Hillary and Obama can deliver the red meat they need to instill enough fear into republicans to drive them to the polls. Whether it be Clinton hating, fear of women in control, fear of a black man in control, fear of a (wink wink) possible muslim in control, Bill Clinton's penis, etc, etc.

John Edwards is the only candidate that will not only adhere to the Dem principles, but most importantly, the Republicans are not going to be fearful enough of a white southern man (albiet with great hair and a big house) to vote for a Republican they can't fully get behind.

Hillary and Obama will still be in the Senate and still have fabulous futures ahead in the party (if their bickering doesn't completely destroy them and us). Vote strategically. Edwards is our only hope and the GOP's worst nightmare. It's about time we stop shooting ourselves in the foot and feeding the monster.

Go Edwards Go!

The Bush family and the Clinton family have been in power since 1988. They are both responsible for where we are today as a nation. Now the world and America have changed and we must have change we can believe in to keep up. Obama is the face of change and I think Obama will win. I just read this book and Im convinced he will win http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0615179592
