Obama On Letterman
Sen. Barack Obama is making some campaign promises we can be pretty sure he won't keep. Appearing Thursday on the "Late Show With David Letterman," the Democratic presidential candidate delivered a tongue-in-cheek list of his top 10 campaign promises, including a pledge to rename the tenth month of the year "Barack-tober."

Obama, the latest in a string of candidates to show up on Letterman's show, appeared just briefly to deliver the night's list. Earlier this week, candidate John Edwards came on the show only to have his carefully coifed hair messed up by the host.

On Thursday, Obama joked that Lettermen couldn't repeat that prank, telling him: "you can't muss my hair."

"2. Pronounce the word nuclear, nuclear."

This one, I love. Each time I hear Bush mispronounce it, I think, "Now why hasn't anyone told him in the past 7 years that he's doing that wrong? Do they WANT him to sound like fool?"

This is written by a Jew, just so's ya know:
"...(some)Jewish voters actually are buying into the "Obama is a secret Muslim" lie. It also appears that some Jewish organizations are involved in disseminating the smears. Incredibly, the recently retired Israeli ambassador to the United States has also jumped into the act with a column saying Obama should not be President. That is almost unprecedented. The goal, of course, is to defeat Obama in the Florida, New York and California primaries where Jewish voters are numerous.I'd write more but the whole subject is too nauseating. On a hopeful note, see the Jewish Week editorial denouncing the whole anti-Obama smear campaign. At least, the good guys are fighting this but, as the various articles suggest, the contagion is spreading anyway. The good news. Another racial myth is disproven. Jews just aren't that smart!"

Hillary swallowed Bush's 935 lies and voted to give the dumbest President in history the power to start a war of preemption.

Now that was funny.

That's the most un-funny Top Ten list ever!

Hillary will NEVER win the general election. What she means by experience is nothing but baggage that she and bill will bring back to the whitehouse. They will play their dirty stuff and then republicans will follow and it goes on and on....

You people are all just assinine! How do you think every politician get rich? The Clintons were not very rich before his terms. Very few of our Government Representatives were rich before coming to be elected.
They are all part of the good old boy club, doing favors for each other.
Do you all think they can accept bribery right out in the open?
How Bush Republican like that would be?

I missed Obama's Letterman appearance. Did he use the same tiresome three words, pause, three words.... cadence as usual?

Are the Democrats choosing Hillary because she has the moral integrity to stop an unjust war and to hold war criminals responsible for leading America into war based on lies and deception? Are they choosing Hillary because she defends the US Constitution from usurpation by executive power? Are they choosing her because she is public-spirited instead of personally ambitious?

No. The Democrats are choosing Hillary because of gender and race. Despite all the efforts of Democratic activist groups, the majority of Democratic voters are more concerned with race and gender issues than with their country's reputation and their civil liberties.

If elected president, Hillary will bring no more change than did the Democratic congressional majority elected in 2006.

Obama might not bring any change either. But he is the only candidate in the running who has expressed concern over Israel's mistreatment of the Palestinians and who voted against the Iraq invasion. Clearly, he is a better bet for change than Hillary. However, Democrats are more attuned to race and gender issues than to war crimes and loss of civil liberties.

Is there a honest intelligent Democratic woman out there qualified to run for President?
Bush has lowered the bar on this job but Miss Piggy would get my vote before her.

Go Obama, or vote McCain!

How sad is it that #2 actually meets one of my criteria for what I want in a President? Between Bush's mangling of the language and his incessant leaning on podiums, I'm really looking forward to a President who doesn't make me twinge every time he's speaking in public.
