Obama On Letterman
Sen. Barack Obama is making some campaign promises we can be pretty sure he won't keep. Appearing Thursday on the "Late Show With David Letterman," the Democratic presidential candidate delivered a tongue-in-cheek list of his top 10 campaign promises, including a pledge to rename the tenth month of the year "Barack-tober."

Obama, the latest in a string of candidates to show up on Letterman's show, appeared just briefly to deliver the night's list. Earlier this week, candidate John Edwards came on the show only to have his carefully coifed hair messed up by the host.

On Thursday, Obama joked that Lettermen couldn't repeat that prank, telling him: "you can't muss my hair."

5. I'll rename the tenth month of the year "Barack-tober."

4. I won't let Apple release the new and improved Ipod the day after you bought the previous model.

3. I'll find money in the budget to buy Letterman a decent hairpiece.

Prediction Alert:

It will come down to Hillary vs. McCain.

And because the GOP hates Hillary so much, they'll become miraculously UNITED and vote for the ancient McCain instead. And HE will win.

If the f*cking DNC doesn't get its act together they will have single-handedly caused this unification.

They must nominate Obama to even have a CHANCE at getting the WH on 08.

Saw Letterman, Obama is a stiff. No timing, no personality, humorless.

He makes the old Al Gore look charismatic.

The dude needs to express more Kenya and less Kansas.

Hypocrisy Much Senator Obama:

From today's San Francisco Chronicle:

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama - who has criticized Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards for benefiting from "independent expenditure" and political action committees - is taking heat because some of the same kind of organizations are now spending money, organizing and putting up TV ads on his behalf in the Bay Area.

These types of independent organizations aren't illegal as long as they do not act in a coordinated way with the campaign. But critics say Obama is being hypocritical in denouncing Edwards' connection with "527" independent expenditure groups while not demanding that ones supporting him stop.

In Obama's case, a 30-second TV spot financed by PowerPAC, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit political action committee, is running on cable stations in the Bay Area, urging change and a vote for Obama.

I like Obama, but think I will vote for Hillary unless she keeps up this slime campaign. I have a real problem with Obama and missed votes, "incorrectly made" votes (5 I think on record), and all those "presents." It just seems like he has avoided taking stands on controversial issues. He did ethics reform - what Democrat is against ethics reform?
If Obama gets the nomination, I will probably go vote but I can't see me working for him. And if it looks like he won't be able to be effective, I may not vote at all. He may be able to unite a coalition of young people, Hillary-hating democrats and some independants and get elected. But the same irritation that I feel about Hillary trashing Obama is quickly being met by my irritation at Obama trashing Hillary. Who needs Republicans when Democrats act like this.

I wondered where all the Obama-whacks were tonight, and now i have found them..them and the Huffpost republicans...Obama is the King of Whine...was that in the top ten? People are tired of the CLinton past..that is for all of you who haven't bothered to read her policies and plans. Hillary is the best for President of the United States..she can beat any of the empty Bushalike Warhawks that were debating on MSNBC tonight...but Wolf Blitzer needed to watch..we saw good management of a debate, and the moderation had all candidates talking about THEIR positions on different issues..oh, how I wish Blitzer would go away, and moderate for E Television...we need a real Democratic Debate with boundaries and strict time limits and moderation..then you could really hear Obama stutter and gesture and tilt his head, while providing nothing substantial. HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT. Get a life, bloggers.

Dave seemed quite distant from Barack...

All right, let’s just decide the Democratic nomination based on race and gender. OK, Hillary will get all the female voters, and Barack will get all the males. Then, since Barack is half white and half black, he would get half the white voters, and, I guess since Hillary doesn’t have any black blood, Barack would also get all the African American voters. They could just split all the other racial groups.

Who wins?

I just watched the Republican debate (Florida). I noticed all candidates continuously mentioned having to run against Hillary.

Boy--they're eager for that challenge. If I were an International Football Team, having to chose to play against an American Team, I wouldn't mention the New England Patriots either (Obama). I'd play it SAFE and go for a team I KNOW I COULD DISINTEGRATE (Clinton).

I wonder why Obama didn't whine to Letterman about the Clinton's pickin' on him?
Oh, that's right- he's too timid to take them on himself. He lets his wife do that for him.

I wonder how many House and Senate seats we'll lose if Billary is at the top of the ticket. Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory once again.

I'm wating for an anti-Muslim bigot to shorten BH Obama's middle name to Hussy & for Slick Willy to start using the name Hussy to slam BH Obama in his anti-Obama screeds by accident. This is turning into a mud slinging event, not a campaign to get nominated to become POTUS in '08, for Slick Willy. Has Slick Willy been getting transfusions of plasma which has elements of the late Spiro Agnew's RNA or Bile O'Really's RNA?
Her Hillaryship may be forced to put a muzzle on Slick Willie & keep him on a short leash too. Slick Willy has gotten to be too found of acting as Senator Clinton's terrier.
