Obama On Letterman
Sen. Barack Obama is making some campaign promises we can be pretty sure he won't keep. Appearing Thursday on the "Late Show With David Letterman," the Democratic presidential candidate delivered a tongue-in-cheek list of his top 10 campaign promises, including a pledge to rename the tenth month of the year "Barack-tober."

Obama, the latest in a string of candidates to show up on Letterman's show, appeared just briefly to deliver the night's list. Earlier this week, candidate John Edwards came on the show only to have his carefully coifed hair messed up by the host.

On Thursday, Obama joked that Lettermen couldn't repeat that prank, telling him: "you can't muss my hair."

It’s the electability, stupid. Democrats, please pay attention: Hillary cannot win the general and that is the ONLY point worth putting out at this crucial moment of the primaries. Don't get distracted or side-tracked: put every other piece of info, scrappy fight, comment by surrogates, squabble, newspaper article, blog, story and propaganda-filled speech aside. Its not about race or gender or policies or change or experience. You only need to know ONE piece of information to make your decision: no candidate can win a general election that is not supported by half of her own party. Keep your eye on the 11/08 ball before it’s too late. She is the only thing that will rally the struggling Republican Party. Tell every Democrat and Independent you know: a vote for Hillary is a vote for John McCain, HIS war in Iraq and an economy that will not recover for a very long time. Why does the DNC not recognize this? We are running out of time to put an end to the eight, and I now fear 12, years of negative and never-endingly bad mojo and the moment to do something about it is right now. So stop talking and go out and do something. One simple first step? Email The DNC and tell them how you feel about the way The Clintons are leading our party and running their campaign. http://www.democrats.org/page/s/contactissues . Pass it on.

I got a better idea. Why doesn't Mr. Obama go on Meet the Press or FOX News Sunday and feel the heat instead of playing footsie with Tyra Banks, Oprah and David Letterman?

No wonder Hillary is slapping him around like a Raggedy Anne doll everytime they debate.

He should also pledge to:

Appoint Bill Shaheen "Drug Czar" :)

Bill Shaheen knows a lot about drugs, as evidenced by his attack on Obama. A perfect drug czar.

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama - who has criticized Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards for benefiting from "independent expenditure" and political action committees - is now getting help from some of the same kind of organizations that are spending money, organizing and putting up TV ads on his behalf in the Bay Area.
These types of independent organizations aren't illegal as long as they do not act in a coordinated way with the campaign. But critics say they point to Obama's apparent hypocrisy in denouncing Edwards' connection with so-called "527" independent expenditure groups while not demanding that ones which support him stop.
In Obama's case, a 30-second TV spot financed by San Francisco-based Power PAC, a 501 c4 non profit political action committee, is now running on cable stations in the Bay Area, featuring a series of faith-based community folks urging change and a vote for Obama.
